Prior to our trip I found the information for truffle hunting via Trip Advisor. We had not been to Le Marche region previously so were looking for some unique things to do. Moreno was in contact very quickly with the info I was looking for and allowed us to arrange our activities very easily via email.
He met us at the appointed time and we explored the area with him and he explained all about truffles, the seasons, the regulations, etc. We had a really fun time at the farm area watching the dog Franco find these truffles and we would have to get to the dog before he ate them (the dog was specially trained to find truffles so, of course, he loves truffles!) The entire area is beautiful and we went for a drive after to another beautiful hill town for an apertif and then on to our lunch which was wonderful! We were in Italy for 19 days and this lunch, which included our found truffles, was probably our best food of the trip - a family run locals restaurant. Moreno handled everything and is charming and fun to talk with - he was as interested in us as we were in all that he was doing (he does run many other activities so ask him or hire him to help you with your activities)! All in all, the four of us that got together with Moreno thoroughly enjoyed ourselves and this beautiful area in Italy. Do not hesitate to work with Moreno on your activities.

we had a wonderful time on the truffle hunt and the trip in Le Marche. Moreno was a most informative and fun person to be with..... he made everything enjoyable!
The truffle hunt was fun....watching the dog go crazy when he got the scent of the truffle and then we all went crazy with that terrific scent of the truffles in our car!
We had a delicious lunch .....cooked pasta and enjoyed the truffles.

Me and my wife really liked this tour. In particular the very personal approach and enthusiasm of Moreno who showed us a great piece of rural life in Le Marche which I think is difficult to come across otherwise as a tourist. If you are interested in food and enjoy nature this is definiately the tour for you.

An amazing trip. I learnt how the dogs hunt, how they respond to their hunter/master, where they hunt, and how they dig up the truffle - so very gently. And all in beautiful Le Marche countryside. They found 10 truffles on the day we went with them. It was a superb experience and we went home with truffles to eat with spaghetti that night.

We had an amazing time in Le Marche! We especially enjoyed the Truffle hunting that was included as part of our tour package. Our tour guide, Moreno, took us out into the country of Le Marche for this excursion. After a fifteen minute drive we arrived at a little farm area with oak trees, corn fields and apple trees that was surrounded by the Sibilini mountains. We then met our truffle guide and his truffle hunting dog, "Tina Turner". She was a beautiful, nicely groomed, chocolate pointer who was friendly and very hyper. She was so excited to be with us sniffing the ground, and jumping around in excitement. We hiked about 10minutes down a long country dirt road lined with brush and trees. It was beautiful. After arriving at a moderate size area of small oak trees, Tina went to work. She would sniff around the oak trees until she found the truffles, then she would bark and dig. The owner would then proceed to dig out the area Tina had indicated and on three separate occassions a large golf ball size black truffle was found. I honestly didn't think we would find anything on this hunt, but we did! It was exciting to see where the truffles actually come and how, why and where they grow. Our tour guide was a wealth of knowlegde regarding Truffles. It was amazing that they had such distinct smell even when they are whole and not cut open. We used these same truffles in our home-made pasta that we prepared that night for dinner. Amazing experience!
