“MMMMMM food.”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 14, 2014

Had a fabulous meal there 13/2/2014... The place was surprisingly empty but it was quite early and on a Thursday....on th plus side the meals came out in good time and were delicious. I had the Venison main and it was gorgeous, deserts were also great. Would definitely recommend for a special occasion.

“Good pizza”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 22, 2014

Went without reservation, luckily I was on time, 30 minutes there were no tables left.
As starter I had the carpaccio, which was good, the meat was not the same as in Italy, but was good. As main I had a pizza Vesuvo, which was very good. As a dessert a tiramusu, which was quite standard but good.

In general, a good Italian place to eat with tasty food.

This is a lovely restaurant with great food and a buzzing atmosphere. The pizzas are delicious and there are always interesting specials. We go back regularly - highly recommended.

“Reliable local restaurant”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 13, 2014

This is one of our favourite places to eat locally. A recent meal was typical - perfectly acceptable deep-fried sardines, followed by an excellent lamb shank with root vegetables. Apple tart needed more apples, but the almond pastry was tasty. Not sure about the more expensive wine that we chose. It was perfectly drinkable but seemed to be past its best, so perhaps it is wiser to choose something cheaper. Service very friendly from Lucio in person, and from his staff, if a trifle chaotic. Cost reasonable. Restaurant full, with people without reservations being turned away, so atmosphere was lively - but not as uncomfortably noisy as it can get when there is a party in. Tip - busy time is earlier in the evening, so go later if you prefer a quieter ambiance or haven't made a reservation.

“Good food, poor atmosphere.”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 11, 2014

A nice place, good food, but what makes me annoyed by these sort of restaurants is the fact they feel the need to cram as many tables in as possible. This means that while the food is enjoyable, you won't necessarily want to sit in the place too long as it can get very warm and 'cosy' - and you will be shouting at your friends to make yourself hard over the din.

Some might call it atmosphere, in here it's just noise.

Very popular all the same, so can't help but think Da Luco simply needs a bigger place to satisfy the demand. Food is too good not to try it - up to you if you want to go back though!
