We called in here while staying in the area one evening and took a seat outside by the river so we had a nice view while we ate. We ordered our food from the bar where the bar staff were very friendly and cheerful and went back to our table and in no time at all the food was delivered. It was all very nice and hot and of decent portion sizes. The prices were reasonable too. We would certainly go there again if in that area.

To say this restaurant has gone downhill is unfortunately an understatement! We arrived on time and were shown our table. So far so good. We were a party of 5 adults and two children. Our waiter was chatty and whitty and an asset. We ordered our food most of the starters came out after a long wait of approximately fourty minutes before the drinks that we had ordered at the same time! The prawn cocktail came approximately ten minutes later as it had been forgotten. This arrived at the same time as the drinks. We, at this time were offered a jug of tap water and decided that it would be a good idea for all to have a glass. Another 40 minutes passed and we asked several times what had happened to the water and, by now, the lunches? When the food eventually arrived the childrens food had been mistakenly prepared as adult meals. And were brought back after five minutes or so.The vegtables came five minutes after the food and tasted horrible the meat was ok although cold, but the potatos seemed as though they had been cooked for several hours and kept warm. All in all very disappointed and will not be retuninig any time soon. We have eaten here several times before and have always been keen to return.

Visited the restaurant on a lovely sunny Sunday, great location overlooking the river, but that's probably about the only positive thing about it! The food is below standard, the staff is extremely unfriendly and seem to work to some rule book which doesn't mention customer satisfatction, very pricey for the quality of food were were served. Orded spit roast chicken with Aioli and Frites and was served a disgusting chewy roast chicken on a bed of cabbage with a few roast potatoes...4 coffes and two scoops of ice cream for desert cost over £15. Needless to say that we will not be going back there anytime soon

I have been here a couple of times, the location is lovely but every time I go I am disappointed. The food is okay but very overpriced for what you get. The service is really appalling.. I'm not sure when they get their staff from but their customer service skills are terrible. The last time I went, despite having a reservation, we were left to queue for ages, at no point did any member of staff even acknowledge our arrival. After finally being seated, we ordered our drinks and waiting for around 20 minutes before we received these, which was after our food has arrived! We had no plates to eat our starters off so had to use our side plates. I had the burger to start and the beard was so burnt I couldn't eat it, at £12.95 this was unacceptable, as all you get is the burger and a few chips for that price so you expect it to be really good. All in all just really disappointing.. This place has the potential to be really good. I won't be going back

This is a great place to watch the sunset and enjoy views of the Thames. The food is good and the service adequate. It's got a fantastic atmosphere. A good place to celebrate events with friends.

The pub downstairs is always busy. It's ine of my favourite places in Surbiton
