“Colliford Tavern & Camping”
Reviewed April 10, 2012

Under new management as of Sat 31 March 2012, in fairness we didn't know the last owners, but what lovely people the new family are. Family, being the operative word as theres a whole host of Yorkshire folk waiting to welcome you to Cornwall. The campsite is small enough to not have too many people around but larger enough to know you're on holiday. Dogs are welcomed and you're left alone on the site to explore, theres no wondering owners waiting to jump out on you and pitches are good sized. Having the Tavern close to hand provides warmth and comfort on the not so sunny days, especially Easter 2012. Food fantastic, portions huge, prices not bad and nothing is too much trouble. Although there is no direct access to Colliford Lake, the site is only a mile up the road so no hardship there. Bodmin Moor is beautiful all year round and centrally located (just off the A30) for both Devon & Cornwall. Campsite (& Tavern) definitely worth a visit.

An excellent quite well maintained camping ground for tents, caravans and tourers. Set almost in the middle of Bodmin Moor just off the A30. The food is excellent ,portions are huge, the menu caters for all tastes and the price is good. Nothing is too much trouble for this family run site. Dogs are welcome and there are dog walking areas. Where it is situated gives easy access to other local attractions, Jamacia Inn. walking on Bodmin Moor, climb the highest mountain in Cornwall, Brown Willey or drive further into Cornwall to other attractions. The Eden Project is quite near as is Tintagel Castle and sandy beaches.
This site is the best we have visited for quite camping but within easy reach of historical sites and good beaches.
You get the best of both worlds on holiday and we would certainly recommend Colliford Tavern to anyone who is in Cornwall. Would we revisit?. A resoundng yes time and time again.
Many thanks to Pete and his family for making us feel at home and the excellent service we received
