“Excellent stag-do!”
Review of Mountain Mayhem

Mountain Mayhem
Reviewed March 10, 2013 via mobile

From the 1st call discussing interest and options, through to booking and planning and on to arrival and doing, this setup is excellent, no two ways about it I don't think our weekend of quad bikes and indoor shooting with lunches (with home cooked puds) could have been improved in anyway. The staff are fun and talkative and help the banter flow, informative and thorough without being "boring health and safety nag style".

Thank you to the whole team, but especially Vicky for making the planning (even with random awkwards wanting different parts and not the whole shabang!) so easy, right down to booking the hotel and suggesting restaurants and pubs!

I need find a reason to come back!

Thank Daveooo

We went here on a stag do and chose paintballing, the assault course, and some off-road buggies as our activities, and the venue and staff were fantastic.

I'm lucky enough to work for a company that does a huge number of these kind of weekends so I've been on quite a few and these guys were the best by far. Their activities are great (assault courses are normally just tiring and not that challenging but this one really pushed us) and the organisers struck a perfect balance between the usual health and safety requirements and still having fun - this is something that's rare to find these days! In other words, they made it clear that if you're idiots, they'd step in, but they finished the paintballing with a 'Stag vs All' round, they allowed us to try to push each other off the assault course (and people did fall in the river from the high wire) and they laughed when the buggying became full contact and people were driven off the course and down a steep bank. These moments made the weekend great.

So often you go to paces like this and everything is about making money but here, even buying extra paintballs was cheaper than anywhere else I've been. On top of all that, they served good, appropriate food (carbs!) and added a lot of good banter.

Great weekend, and I'd thoroughly recommend them whether you're on a stag do like us, or just wanting a family adventure weekend away.

We used MM for a Stag weekend. Events chosen were Quad Biking, Indoor shooting and Rally Karting. The activities were all excellently ran and were of the right duration to keep 13 lads entertained. The staff struck and great balance between delivering an action packed experience and also a fun, relaxed atmosphere. A the organiser the coordination support provided by Vicky was much appreciated by myself. All in our group agreed the MM experience was great value of money. We'll be sure to use again!

I just visited Mountain Mayhem as part of a stag party (25 of us). It's a family run business, but it's a very smooth and professional operation (and it makes such a big difference when the staff enjoy what they are doing). There were probably about 35 other guests at the centre during our visit but there are lots of exercises to choose from and the centre was easily big enough to comfortably accommodate everybody. The facilities were excellent, very clean and modern. Our group split into two small groups in the morning, half of us doing quad bikes and the other half doing hovercrafts for c2 hours each and then swapping over. The equiment was all in superb condition and well maintained and both events were great fun (the quad trekking was probably the most popular of the two and I would recommend it. The hovercrafts were good too, but if we had the chance again, we would choose to use the pilot carts instead, because they looked awesome!).

After the morning activities, we stopped for lunch, which really hit the spot (jacket potatoes, beans and a selection of hot pies/pasties - good old fashioned man food!). One tip though - save some room for dessert, which was a superb (home made) display of tarts, cakes, trifles, crumbles, cheesecakes etc. (although one fussy member of our party did comment that all the desserts contained fruit and no chocolate!).

In the afternoon, Vicki took us over to the assault course (we chose to do it at a lesuirely pace rather than as a race). Most of the course is manageable, but there are parts of it that were quite challenging - about half our group got wet on one of the river crossings, but its only knee (and in some places waist) deep so nothing to worry about.

All in all, it was an excellent day and I would definitely recommend Mountain Mayhem as a suitable location for a team building exercise or stag party.

One word of warning though - there is no mobile phone reception here (for any provider) so if you need to check in with 'er indoors, make sure you do it before you arrive.
