A Lovely cottage in a beautiful part of the world. We stayed in Goose Cotts the cottage was very well equipped and very clean , Ruth and Ken go out of there way to help you enjoy your stay everything is thought of from maps to dvds etc. There is plenty of wood for the log burner which comes in handy on chilly nights and makes the cottage lovely and cosy. The Bridge Inn pub is 1.5 miles away and does some good cider and it's a lovely walk there.
After arriving after midnight, woke the next morning to a quite unexpected and fantastic clear view west to the Black Mountains. It's worth staying here for that alone. But the property is quite special too and was perfect for our large group long weekend (large dining table very useful, plenty of communal space, lovely terrace). Some good local walks and area would also be good for cycling (though a little hilly).
Ruth, Ken and family were always helpful, but (as someone said before) never obtrusive and immediately found a spare key when we locked ourselves out of the Granary.
Strongly recommend putting the postcode into the SatNav (works first time) as Craswall covers a large area and you may spend a some time searching otherwise. But Sainsbury's impressively managed to find us with no problems.
Enjoyed reading Ruth's history of Craswall.
We would all recommend Duke's Farm and I'd certainly like to visit again. Two or three days doesn't seem quite enough for this area.
Beautiful and peaceful spot. Lovely hosts. Nothing too much trouble. Felt really well looked after. Will definitely recommend to friends and family. Thanks so much, Ruth and Ken. We look forward to seeing you again!
Beautiful and charming and not just the scenery but also the cottages. Warmest welcome and such helpful owners. Accommodation was so well stocked, cared for, impeccably clean. Couldn't have asked for a better weekend away. Will be booking another group visit next year! Thank you so much. Fantastic place.
If you want all the home comforts with amazing views from almost every viewpoint then Duke's Farm is the place to go. Ruth welcomed us on arrival and was a mine of information on the local area. All guests needs are anticipated for, including maps, books, Dvd's and spare wellies for the humans and spare feeding bowls, feeding mats and rugs for our dog 'Jarvis'. We had packed beverages and toiletries but needn't have bothered as it was all there waiting for us. We stayed in The Granary which was so cosy with the log burner going we struggled to make ourselves go out. The beds are incredibly comfortable and we enjoyed 4 nights of complete rest in the lovely cosy bedroom. When we did manage to drag ourselves out we enjoyed some great walks, our particular favourite was the 'Cat's Back' which you can see from the terrace. We are so pleased to have found this gem of a place and would have no hesitation in recommending 'Duke's Farm'. We fully intend to return at some point in the near future. Jarvis can't wait!
