“A stunning view and a wonderful place to stay”
Reviewed May 27, 2014 for a stay in May 2014

Yet another wonderful stay at Duke's Farm. This must be our fourth stay and as usual Ruth and Ken were wonderful hosts. Everything is catered for - Ruth thinks of everything - it really does feel like coming home. The accommodation is of a high standard with plenty of character, and the terrace and views are exceptional - can't think of anywhere else I'd rather be in this country. We would certainly recommend Duke's Farm, even though we're a bit reluctant to tell everyone about it! Thanks again Ruth and Ken, and hope to see you in the future.

“Fantastic rural retreat on the Welsh borders”
Reviewed May 12, 2014 for a stay in May 2014

Dukes farm is a complex of beautiful old farm buildings settled on a south facing valley slope with a magnificent vista towards the Brecon Beacons. One could sit on the terrace all day just taking in the view. There are three units - all converted from their original farm usage, into living accommodation which sympathetically retains all the charm of their heritage but provides contemporary facilities (en-suites, king size beds, log burners etc) we all expect.
There are great walks to be had - notably up onto 'the Cats Back', the Black mountains and gentler stuff. Hay on Wye is half an hour away for those wanting gentler walking along the river or, of course, lots of book shops (and high clothing shops!).
We really enjoyed our stay.

“Lovely accommodation in a relaxing place”
Reviewed May 2, 2014 for a stay in April 2014

We spent 4 nights at The Goose Cotts, and found it extremely clean and really lovely. Ken and Ruth were extremely friendly and helpful when we needed them. The farm is located for many walks and great views, due to my current pregnancy though; we mainly visited nearby towns etc. Hay-on-wye is about 20 mins drive, and is really lovely for shops, cafes, ice-cream and of course books!

“A beautiful place to spend a relaxing holiday”
Reviewed May 1, 2014 for a stay in April 2014

This is a place we keep returning to. The owners always make us very welcome. The cottage is well equipped in a beautiful setting. It provides a warm home from home holiday and a place we love to spend a few days. The surrounding countryside offers many sites to see and places to visit. The cottage is kept in excellent condition with every home comfort.

“Very relaxing stay in comfortable accomodation with stunning views.”
Reviewed March 30, 2014 for a stay in March 2014

We loved our stay in this beautiful peaceful spot. Ruth and Ken are really friendly and helpful hosts and provided many extras in the accommodation. The area is very good for walking, and there were plenty of maps and books readily available on the area. We would love to make a return stay.

“Charming cottage for chill out!”
Reviewed March 30, 2014 for a stay in March 2014

Lovely character Goose cottage for two people. Quite a bit off the beaten track but the remoteness is part of the charm. You are amongst such dramatic scenery you cannot help but relax! Cottage very comfortable with everything you need. We enjoyed lovely cosy evenings with luxury ready meals! The wood burner kept you very warm. Plenty to see in an area of outstanding scenery and Ruth was at hand to give you any local information should you require it. One of the nicest cottages we have stayed in in this country. Thank you for having us.

“Absolutely Beautiful”
Reviewed February 18, 2014 for a stay in February 2014

Couldn't have asked for a better stay, the cottage was beautiful and felt so homely and is also in a fantastic location with many great walks and close distance to a great pub. Ken and Ruth the hosts have thought of everything and are two of the nicest people you could meet. we got back yesterday and are already planning our next visit and would strongly recommend staying here .
