“Amazing Birthday suprise”
Reviewed January 7, 2014 for a stay in December 2013

My Partner surpised me with a stay at Dukes farm in the smaller Goose Cotts building. This is the most beautiful place we have both ever stayed, both the views and the surrounding area play a helping hand in making Dukes farm amazing. The cottage speaks for itself - Cosy, warm, clean and comfortable. It really was a perfect weekend away.
Everything you could need from tea and coffee to wellies is readily available and creates a sense of homeliness whilst away.

Thankyou very much to both Ken and Ruth - You have got everything right!

“An amazing place to stay in such beautiful surroundings, with such friendly owners”
Reviewed January 6, 2014 for a stay in December 2013

We all had a fantastic time here. Ruth and Ben are the most amazing hosts. The cottages are brilliantly equipped for both humans and pets alike.
We would thoroughly recommend these cottages as a great place to holiday.

“Fantastic Place - Beautiful Setting”
Reviewed January 1, 2014 for a stay in December 2013

We hired all three cottages and descended onto Ruth and Ian's farm with our extended family over the Christmas week. From the moment we got there to the minute we left we felt completely taken care of and had a truly amazing time. The surrounding area is just beautiful and the view from Swallow Cottage is breathtaking. The cottages have been renovated and decorated to a very high standard, kitchen and bathrooms are equipped with more than you could imagine. The beds are done up with wonderful bedding and really I just cannot praise the place, the scenery or Ruth and Ian's hospitality enough. I highly recommend Duke's Farm Cottages!

“You will not want to leave”
Reviewed December 30, 2013 for a stay in November 2013

This place is simply perfect. We rented The Swallow Barn and The Granary for 3 families with kids between ages of 2 and 9 and fell in love with the place. Ruth and Ken are just lovely - so welcoming and make you feel instantly at home - even when your kids are shattering their peace and chucking cushions all around the lounge. The barns are gorgeously furnished - well equipped, beautifully restored and decorated, yet homely and snug at the same time. As Ruth says, they are not trying to be "boutique", but they are the home in the country you always dreamt of having. The Herefordshire countryside is stunning. I doubt you would ever tire of the incredible view from the Swallow Barn lounge. There are great local walks on your doorstep - including to pubs. And the games room and trampoline meant happy kids. Come rain or shine, we would love this place.

“Wonderful place for family get together”
Reviewed December 23, 2013 for a stay in December 2013

We stayed here with 5 of our children and their partners, and our 7 grandchildren aged 18 months to 6 years. The accommodation here is superb, all very clean, well equipped with outstanding hospitality from Ruth and ken, the owners who live on site. Views are stunning, the little ones loved playing outside and the lounge and dining area in swallows barn was plenty big enough fur us all. Thank you for a wonderful start to our Christmas.

“Fab. Fab. Fab in every way. Wonderful welcome, wonderful property, wonderful views.”
Reviewed November 30, 2013 for a stay in November 2013

Every year we go away for a long weekend with our children and their partners. We try somewhere different every year, but this is the best by far and we will come back here next year. All dealings with Ruth before arrival were great. She is a warm and friendly person. There was a wood fire to welcome us and nicities like tea, coffee and biscuits. Also essentials such as tin foil, toilet rolls, toiletteries, cooking oil, cleaning equipment and products, dish cloths, towels and tea towels - all the things it is a complete pain to take when going away for a few days. We stayed at Swallow Barn, which has been renovated in a very sympathetic way. There was a lot of room for us all and the beds were warm and comfy. Lots of very well appointed shower rooms too.
The views are spectacular. A patio with great garden furniture allowed breakfast in the sunshine watching the sheep and the beautiful hills behind the fields- yes it was November!
Kitchen is well equipmmed with classy items, not cheap basic stuff, and there is ample room to cater for a large party. Everything worked and was a pleasure to use. There is a garden also with the barn, which has a little stream running through it and a wendy house at the bottom, which would have been great fun with younger children. Ruth made us feel very special and wanted there and we can't wait to return.

“Brilliant, met all our needs”
Reviewed November 18, 2013 for a stay in November 2013

I booked both the Granary and Swallow Barns for a catch up of 15 friends and we were not disappointed. The barns are beautifully but practically renovated and located in a beauitful setting overlooking an expanse of farmland and the Brecon Beacons. The November weather meant we could not fully appreciate the stone patio although we did all manage breakfast out there in the morning sun. The barns were fully equipped with all the things we needed but also the little extras like a pint of milk, some tea bags, coffee and sugar and the little essentials like oil, kitchen roll, tin foil etc. that you generally forget tio pack. The log burner kept the large barn very snuggly and the game of Twister available kept us all entertained. The barns were a bit difficult to find in the dark round all the winding roads but the instructions are very clear - sat nav and mobile coverage very poor as to be expected. Owners were very helpful and friendly, would recommend to anyone looking for a place to accommodate a large group. Also, incredibly comfortable beds!
