“Superb Holiday”
Reviewed September 14, 2011

Absolutely brilliant holiday even though weather was not great, still so much to do at forda and the surrounding area.
Jim & Gillan are very friendly and very helpful with their local knowledge gave us great advice on places to visit and eat out.
Accomodation was excellent very clean & tidy with everything you needed.
Plenty of good fishing and colin the instructor is amazing very paitent and relaxing, he taught our 12year old daughter to fish and she caught a lovely 12lb common carp for which she is so proud.
I would highly recommend Forda cottages to anyone as it has something for everyone.

Room Tip: all accomodation is fantastic

We spent a lovely week in one of the Forda Cottages. It was immaculately clean, very cosy and had very comfortable furniture and beds. The walks throught the grounds were beautiful with lakes, wooded areas and lots of ducks!! The swimming pool was superb very clean and warm, we swam every day. The weather was not brilliant the week we were there but because the accommodation was so good it didn't bother us too much and we had a lovely week. We can thoroughy recommend it. Jim, Gillian and Jayne made us feel very welcome and Colin gave us lots of very interesting information about the area and wildlife.
We are definitely going back. Taking our spaniel with us next time! Anne and Neville - Staines

Very relaxing as always and we had some fantastic weather which always helps.

Good fishing provided on site with a wonderful instructor, Colin.

Very much enjoyed by the family and the dogs.

We have been visiting Forda for the last 6 or 7 years and are never disappointed

We found Forda with no difficulty and we had the most brilliant stay. Two did lots of fishing and the lesson they had was great helping our 14yr old to get the hang of a rod on her own, and the the other two enjoyed the spa treatments - such luxury on site was so good.
All the staff were friendly and available when needed but not so in your face as to interrupt your stay. We are definitely looking to go again as soon as we can.

Returned to Forda after hols in 2002. Enjoyed it then when kids were 5 and 3.
This time even better with swimming pool-not busy at all. Games room and gym useful additions.Tennis court free most times. 14 and 12 yr olds entertained.
Very peaceful and tranquil. Jim and Gillian both checked to make sure all was well. One light wasn't working in Lodge-when reported,' Jim fixed it for us' immediately! Great hosts.
We had a go at the fishing lesson on offer. Colin pitched the lesson at the right level for us 4 beginners and we were happy as we caught fish!
Wife and daughter enjoyed spa treatments on offer.
All in all-relaxing and tranquil and only 6 miles from Bude and its beaches and surf ( son enjoyed Blue wave surf school).

We had a great two weeks here in the middle of July despite terrible weather in the second week. This views from the lodges are tremendous and this site is an ideal location for a quiet family holiday. It is especially suited to fishing enthusiasts (which we were not). Fishing lessons were reasonably priced and delivered well by by the resident fishing coach, Colin, who was excellent (his fishing lesson was a holiday highlight for our 8 year old son). There are not many lodges on the site so we had the games room, tennis court and swimmimg pool pretty much to ourselves when we wanted. The pool is small but very clean and the jacuzzi ideal for relaxing. You need to be prepared for a drive though as the nearest decent sized town Bude is about five miles away.
