“Lovely atmosphere, great food, excellent service”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 4, 2013

I have visited many times and love it here. The food is fresh, of high quality and locally sourced. The staff are always welcoming, friendly and efficient. The building is beautiful and a real testament to the hard work of the local community, who worked together to bring it back to life as a multi purpose, community space.

“Let down by poor service”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 8, 2013

The food we ordered was cold sandwiches. 2 ham and 2 cheese. The quality of the food was excellent, but the service was very poor. The order was incomplete - 1 sandwich was missing. It took 15 minutes to deliver. There were few customers, but the staff seem more interested in chatting to each other. The salad with the sandwiches suffered by being put on hot plates. The coffee ordered was served immediately and had to be drunk well before the food arrived to avoid it being cold. Won't be going back.

“calm relaxing, very pleasing place to be”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 23, 2013

This cafe/museum/ library always has a very pleasing atmosphere when first walking in, it's warm, welcoming, very clean, and smells of lovely aromas. I understand this is manned mainly by volunteers who always give great service with a smile, and friendly chatter well done them, the food and quality of everything is of better than average standards, you come out feeling satisfied with the whole experience. Would recommend.

“History in the heart of Caistor”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 12, 2013

The Arts and Heritage centre is situated down Plough Hill from the Market Place, and is housed in an old chapel which is now a combined cafe, library as well as the Arts and Heritage Centre.

The library is decorated with a number of panels, each containing artefacts chronicling the history of Caistor - a history which pre-dates the town's Roman times. Towards the back of the building is an illustrated timeline, contrasting Caistor's history with what was happening in the wider country and world.

Rooms off the library house various visiting exhibitions, which change on a regular basis.

Downstairs is a wonderful cafe - which I have reviewed in the appropriate section elsewhere on this site.
