Our second visit for was three nights over Christmas. Our room was in the main hotel on the second floor and although the stairs are steep. the room was good. As before the food in the restuarant was excellent, although the service from the ktichen was a little slow at times, but a throughly relaxing Christmas break.

Went for after noon tea on a Living Social deal. Walking into the bar area it was very cosy and countryfied we were lead to the conservatory area which was very uninviting and sat there by ourselves. We had to wait for the prosecco which came in a chipped glass, then wait for the tea/coffee and again waited for the afternoon tea which was brought by a quite miserable young woman.

This was a dissappointing treat for my daughter and to be honest was only worth the Living Social deal price. The sandwiches were 'untidy' looking, on the plus side the scone was warm, but the two slabs of cake were pretty run of the mill.

All in all Marco needs to add some input as this puts him name to shame.

Room Tip: try to eat in the bar area near the real fire

Was here on a business trip, the wi-fi never worked for the 2 days I was there and breakfast was meant to be served at 7.30am but no-one came, I think the staff was all asleep.

It is more like Bilbo Baggin's home than a hotel, all lights in the hallway were turned off during the night and in reception. Tried calling reception which was diverted to a mobile that was disconnected.

Would not go back, ever.

Before coming here I read the other reviews and was some what sceptical From my view I thought the staff were great the food excellent and the rooms well do need a little finer touches but did not ruin my weekend. Great location especially for the Cotswold zoo. Amazing zoo

We booked a meal for New Years eve to see our friend Julian Smith play for the evening.
The room this function was in was upstairs. All the tables looked lovely and well set out.We had tried to book a room for the night to save us driving back to Solihull, but unfortunately there were no rooms available. However, we packed our overnight things just in case there was a cancellation. We asked Tina if there was a possibity of a room and she did find us one. She was friendly and very helpful, The room in the main house was lovely, very spacious warm and comfortable. The bathroom very good, although we could not use the shower, which Tina explained about, but no problem at all to us.
The 3 course meal we had was superb, beautifully cooked and served. All the staff were very helpful and friendly, we had a great night there. Breakfast tables set out very nicely, we just had toast, but the breakfasts we saw looked very good. We would certainly stay here again, and hope to in the near future. Many thanks to Tina who did go out of her way to accommodate us.
