“It Was Perfect!!!”
Reviewed July 29, 2011

I've just returned from The Colesbourne Inn having spent 3 nights there as a couple in one of the double ensuite rooms (Room 2).
The Inn is located in an ideal location for travelling around the Cotswold and has beautiful scenic walks on it's doorstep.

On arrival to the Inn we received a warm welcome after viewing the stunning building and garden area.
At the Inn it has it's own resturant and bar area which serves great food which the guests and locals can use.
Breakfast was served between 8:00 & 9:30 which gave a variety of fruit, cereal, toast, full English and much more.

There are 9 rooms at the Inn which are situated directly next to the main entrance. On entering the room I was pleasantly suprised how modern the room was and how homely it felt. The room compromised of a double bed, large wardrobe and dressing table. The bathroom had all usual modern appliances and even had a heated mirror which was a nice touch. More importantly though the shower was great!!

After finishing admiring the room we then searched the local area which had a convenience store nearby in the direction of Cirencester (Approx 2 miles). Cirencester itself is approximately 6 miles away, here there are more shops and a Tesco.

Overall The Colesbourne Inn is a great escape to the country with comfortable, clean rooms and warm hospitality.
I will be recommending to my friends and will definately return.

Ive just returned from 2 nights at this lovely Inn, where I stayed whilst working in nearby Andoversford.

I stopped in room 8, a well equipped room that had everything I required. The room had flat screen TV with a full freeview package and free, very fast wi-fi. The room and bathroom were spotless too.

Food was very good and you can eat in either the restaurant or the bar. The Inn is managed and run by a lovely friendly couple from the North East and they made me feel very welcome indeed.

Connisseurs of the finer things in life will be pleased to note that the bar has 4 real ales on hand pump and that Stornaway black pudding is served here

Oh dear, I can only agree with the previous reviewer. The fellow that served us at the table was confrontational and rude. An extra piece of bread with our meal? Sure but it's not in the price - at least that's what this chap seemed to be saying. A similar situation played out at the table next to us when a lady asked for milk with her tea. Another lady was rudely asked to hurry up and choose what her family would like to eat as they wanted to close the kitchen shortly.

In short. this was a good meal that was soured by terrible service. If you enjoy paying for the privilege of being spoken to like muck then go along, it'll be right up your street.

Move along to the next country pub (I can think of at least two in the vicinity), for a better time of things.

Food lovely, just a shame the manager isn't. Taste cards are accepted here but you have to ask on the day as they make the rules up as they go along when you can and can't use them. A clever way to get people in then charge them full price even though they advertise they do accept taste cards!!

We had a fantastic stay, so much so we have re-booked for next March. There is nothing to fault, the accommodation was perfect (we had the superior room), the food was excellent and very good value, and the welcome we received from Liz and Trev....well, there is nothing to say but praise.
A word of advice, it is worth going "small" on the portions, I had the ham, egg and chips and have never been so full! The cheese board is to be recommended too, but then I don't think you can go wrong with anything on the menu. As for the scrambled eggs in the morning, well our friend was bowled over.
We experienced the quiz night which is every other Wednesday and very well organised by Tim..and very popular with the locals. Good fun and definately recommended as is a game of bar bililards!
The garden and patio look great for a summers evening, if only we lived closer!
Roll on March 2012.........

We stayed in the very tastefully decorated double room no. 1 with a brandnew bathroom - there even was a mechanism to demist part of the large mirror after you had had a shower! Breakfast was served very professionally in the adjoining pub. A little downside was the busy road, but at night it got quieter.

Monday 7th Feb 2011. Just spent the w/e at the Colesbourne Inn in a party of 10 friends & everyone really enjoyed their stay. The 5 rooms occupied by the party had been tastefully refurbished & the restaurant served dinners & breakfasts which were more than adequate. The choice & quality of the real ales in the bar made for a good evening. Location is perfect being only 8 miles from Cirencester & Cheltenham (ladies shopping) & 6 miles from Cirencester golf club. As a party we are likely to book again next year which to me is praise enough. Thanks to all staff who made us welcome.
