My husband and I stayed for one night on a DBB deal, and really could not fault this accommodation. From checking in to checking out, the staff were attentive, accommodating and friendly. Our evening meal was to die for, and I agree with a previous reviewer, the belly pork must be just about the best you will ever taste! Little touches, like "proper" tea and coffee, teapot, cafetiere, cups and saucers (not the ghastly pot mugs that you get in most hotels), Kitkat instead of bourbon and custard creams! Proper milk in the mini bar, along with complimentary cold water. Comfy beds, hot shower and a super breakfast made our stay at Satis House as good as it gets. We loved every minute, and would highly recommend.

One thing - if you are travelling by train (Darsham Station - which is only a stone's throw away from the hotel), it might be an idea to, either book Darsham taxis beforehand, or contact the hotel and ask them to arrange for a taxi to pick you up from the station. We arrived at the station, telephoned the taxi company, and got an answering machine!!

Well worth a visit although a tad expensive ! Very clean and lovely spacious room - the only let down was the lounge area - difficult to understand the drab colours and layout - not in keeping with the history of the building. Lovely friendly staff and delicious food

Room Tip: Chose The Yoxford Room - the biggest roll top bath you have ever seen!

We really enjoyed our one night stay here with dinner and breakfast included in our voucher deal. Crisp, clean linen, comfortable bed, delightful, friendly staff, superb dinner. The belly pork dish must not be missed, its the best I've ever tasted. This country house is a real gem in a very pretty village.

A group of 14 of us stayed here for a family reunion and, because we wanted rooms near each other and had some specific meal request, we asked a lot from the staff and management team to accomidate us: they were excellent! They re-arranged several rooms, created some wonderful variety of vegetarian and non-vegetarian meals, had a special desert made for our big dinner, and couldn't have been more helpful in general. The rooms were clean and spacious; a bit quirky due to the age of the building, but that was one of the reasons we chose this hotel. The entire place is a good example of how an old house, or several old buildings, can be made to work well. The wifi was good in all the places we tried, and there is plenty of parking in the front and along side the hotel. The food in the restaurant was way above average both in quality and choice; breakfast was served in a light and airy room, and was excellent and typical of a good English country hotel. We stayed in the older section of the hotel but the owners of the hotel (also the mangers) have invested a lot in rooms and ground improvements, all of which have made the choice of rooms and food better than you'd expect from a small-ish, one-off rural hotel. We would not hesitate to stay there again.

Awful wet windy journey bridge closed but a lovely welcome awaiting us, and because of all the rain I did wonder if the garden pods would feel damp at all , but no worries they're very well insulated and so warm and cosy in fact I turned the heating off as soon as we arrived it wasn't needed. The food at the restaurant is very good , and it is no bother that we asked to see both menus one being the inc meal options plus the normal restaurant menu so we could pick from either and we were happy to pay the supplement.Gavin a lovely man , has been a member of staff for many years , always serves us well and has a very good eye , always looking ahead to what people may or may not want, he is an asset to the owners . Breakfast really is excellent .The service and standards are consistent , it can only be due to continued hard work by both the owners Kevin and David and their staff, so refreshing to see ...always look forward to a break here.

Room Tip: Having stayed at both the main house and garden pods we have enjoyed both ,I would say if you want complete peace and quiet then maybe the pods are for you as all you can hear are the birds in the morning.Having said that the main house is not noisy .
