“Not a relaxing break.”
Reviewed May 14, 2018 for a stay in May 2018

Anita was very accommodating to our needs and queries.
The cottage was tastefully decorated and clean, however we did feel that the cottage was not child friendly or "old dog" friendly. There were too many steps in the garden and part of the decking area was not fenced off which made it hard for an aging dog with deteriorating sight. There was a broken fence at the end of the garden with nails protruding which we made to move so that our dogs were safe! Also the back gate does not lock and the busy road is extremely close. The stairs were a challenge and the main road was very busy and noisy. No welcome pack of any kind and no initial wood for the fire or even matches. We would not recommend or go back!!

“Gorgeous Cottage - Close to Beach”
Reviewed April 26, 2017 for a stay in April 2017

We had a fantastic break in Mill Cottage. It was perfect to take the dog to the beach which is only a short drive away. During the evenings we used the log burner which really warmed the cottage up quickly!

Looking forward to staying again

“lovely cottage in a great location”
Reviewed September 19, 2016 for a stay in September 2016

We really enjoyed are stay in this lovely little cottage, and our little dog loved the garden, which was safely enclosed so she could explore. The cottage had everything needed for a great stay, including two fans, which were much appreciated as we stayed during some really hot days.
The location was excellent for exploying the lovely suffolk coast. My only gripe and this is in no way a problem with the property, but with me and maybe others looking to stay here, is that the stairs are very steep,, and I found them difficult having a bad hip.

“An excellent property”
Reviewed November 2, 2015 for a stay in October 2015

We enjoyed a lovely few days' break at this excellent property, which has everything one needs. It has been sympathetically updated, retaining much of its period charm - the bedrooms still contain the original Victorian fireplaces. The kitchen is well-equipped and the bathroom has a touch of luxury, with its bath, wet-room-style shower and underfloor heating. The nearby A12 can be busy at certain times of day, but we were totally unaffected by any traffic noise, kept successfully at bay by the fact that the windows of the cottage face away from the road, and have internal wooden shutters. These can be closed at night for extra privacy and cosiness. There is a pleasant decked area, plus garden, to the rear of the property, which must be delightful to use in season - the time of year precluded us from this. However, during our stay, we were able to sit at a very pleasant seafront cafe in Southwold, which is within easy (20 mins) reach. We ate very well at The King's Head (10 mins walk) and enjoyed two visits to Louie-Lou's, the coffee shop in the village. For the historically inclined, Sutton Hoo, the site of excavation of important Anglo-Saxon artefacts, is a short drive away. There is much of interest within easy reach, and we shouldn't hesitate to return to this outstanding cottage.

Hi Steve, thanks for the great review, always makes me happy to see people enjoying the cottage as much as we do. We haven't actually made it to Louie Lou's so that is going on the list. Thanks for staying with us. Anita
