My wife and I spent two weekday nights in the New Wing in June. HaGoshrim is a Resort Hotel, not a boutique hotel. In addition to the central building (lobby, restaurant, reception), many of the accommodations are located throughout a sprawling campus.
Special attention is given to New Wing residents upon check-in, and the Wing is adjacent/attached to the Central building so that you can get to the restaurant without going outdoors. Check-in was smooth, although the computer wasn't working. Our room was spacious, and included a balcony with chairs and a table, room-darkening curtains, coffee/tea corner, robes and slippers. "YES" TV service is provided. The large bed was comfortable and the pillows were fluffy. The towels were large and soft, and you can shower in a bathtub or a separate stall shower. Lots of toiletries, too. There are small tables on either side of the bed, and the room lighting is adequate for reading. A minibar and safe are in the room.
A lounge is available for New Wing guests, with free computer access, good coffee machine and selection of teas, cookies, fresh and dried fruits. The lounge is open from 9-22 during the week.
Although HaGoshrim accommodates many groups, the only crowds that we encountered were in the restaurants. Meals are buffet-style, with more choices for everything than a thermometer has degrees. "Only" five types of hot soup at dinner! Because of the groups, the restaurant can get rather crowded and noisy if you get there at/about opening time - 7am for breakfast and 7pm for dinner. Go an hour later, if you can. Actually, as New Wing guests, we were ushered into a separate dining room, but you can sit wherever you like.
Although there's an excellent fish restaurant nearby, we stayed on a half-board basis. As indicated above, there's something for everyone's palate for dinner and breakfast. Just bring your appetite. Lots of main dishes, side dishes, salads, desserts, etc.
There's a huge outdoor swimming pool located about five minutes (walking) from the Central Building. But it opens at 2 pm during the week (when we were there). A three-minute walk brings you to the spa, with a large indoor swimming pool (open from the morning), an exercise room with lots of equipment (open from 7am), basketball court, showers, sauna, etc. You can even get a pay-for massage.
There are lots of outdoor activities in easy driving distance of the hotel, e.g., hiking, kayaking, and hotel guests can get discounts at some of the places.
