Coming from Norway for a long week-end, we wanted a rural B&B close to the sea, and not too far from Gatwick airport. Solley Farm was perfect for us, as we were six, we used all the three rooms, all equally nice but with some differences in size. The Blue room was the smallest, but in stead had the largest bathroom. The Rose room was the largest, and had sufficient space for all of us to gather for a night-cup. The house in general was very charming, with a very well kept garden, where we spent one of the evenings thanks to unusually warm weather. Sandy had organised hiring of bicycles in the near by town, a 20 min walk through the fields, and the first day we comfortably bicycled to Deal, some 10 km away. The second day, we went by car to Canterbury in the morning, and to Dover in the afternoon, where we had a lovely walk on the cliffs. The little hamlet of Worth included two restaurants, so we did not have to go far for our evening meal. In conclusion, we had a lovely stay, and very much enjoyed the atmosphere and the luxurious country side living offered by Sandy and her husband.

Room Tip: All three rooms are equally good, and equiped similarly. The bathrooms are of different size, and on...

Thank you Sandy for making our 3-night stay so enjoyable. We were made to feel very welcome and were pampered from the moment we set foot in Solley Farm House. On arrival, we were shown round the house and then we were treated to delicious cake and tea in the courtyard garden.

The Gold Room was lovely - beautifully decorated and very comfortable. In addition to the usual tea and coffee making facilities, there was a good supply of books and DVDs for guests as well as a comprehensive range of products in the bathroom. Everything was provided, right down to eye make-up remover and skin toner, a disposable razor and an emery board. How very thoughtful and very much appreciated! That's what I call luxury!

The breakfasts were great - the table was beautifully laid and the quality of the food was excellent. Sandy's attention to detail is superb and this is reflected in the breakfasts as well as in the whole B&B.

We'd thoroughly recommend this B&B to anyone who wants a relaxing break in a quality establishment.

And if you're not sure about the area - Sandwich and Deal are lovely and Canterbury is within very easy access, so there's plenty to see and do. We'd recommend the boat trip from Sandwich quay - if you're lucky and you take the longer trip (tide depending) you might see some seals!

The No Name Shop in Sandwich is well worth a visit if you fancy some good cheese, bread and other French fare for a picnic and, for those of you who enjoy gardens, the Secret Garden is tucked away near the quayside.

There are also some very nice restaurants in the area - we had dinner one night at The Chequers where the food was delicious and reasonably priced. Don't be put off by the fact that the restaurant is quite a long way out of town and has a rather unprepossessing exterior and location - inside the decor is great and the owners were very friendly.

All in all, we had a fantastic time and hope to visit Solley Farm House again soon!

Lovely stay - unfortunately just for one night but our host couldn't have been more attentive. We walked up the coast that day and arrived wet and tired. Sandy made us a pot of tea and brought it up to our gorgeous room with slices of lemon cake. Chocolates and fruit, bottled water and tea and coffee making facilites were all on tap and our large private bathroom was fully stocked with the whole range of Simple products from cleanser, toner and moisturiser through to shampoos, conditioners and bath gels. Solley Fram House is more of a 5* boutique hotel than a B&B with loads of extra touches like bath robes hanging on the door, fresh flowers, a digital radio tuned to our favourite station, plus a turn down service in the evening and chocolates on our bedside tables when we got back from dinner at a nearby restaurant. Breakfast (ordered in advance) was fresh and very tasty. The house is oppersite the duck pond and the church with two pubs not more than 100 yards away. Definately worth a return visit.

Room Tip: We loved the Blue Room with its seperate private bathroom

We wanted a weekend breakaway to get away from it all and at Solley Farm was the perfect place for us to enjoy the Kent coast. Sandy is an extremely generous and warm host in this intimate B&B. From the moment we arrived we were made to feel very welcome and that hospitality continued throughout our stay. Our room was immaculate and comfortable with lots of attention to detail and personal touches. The breakfasts were an fantastic start to the day and a real treat.
We had a great time and would definitely recommend Sollley Farm.

This was a wonderful B and B, great welcome with tea and cake, chocolates and fruit in our room, not to mention the selection of 'Simple' toiletries provided in the en-suite. Our Gold Room was perfect, comfortable and the extra touches were really appreciated to make our Anniversary that extra bit special!!! Thank you so much Sandy............also your suggestions for walks, eating and places to visit were appreciated and the breakfasts were fantastic! Elliott and I had a great time and would love to visit again.

Stayed when an opportunity for a few kid free days arose. Lovely spot and the room was what we would have expected of a luxury B&B. Tea and cake on arrival, chocolates, fruit, wine glasses and a fridge just a few of the lovely finishing touches that make this an extra special B&B. Location was great for exploring Kent. Breakfasts were superb with heaps if choice. Sandy knows her 'patch' and her recommendations were spot on. Highly recommended. David & Lynda
