We were supposed to have two just guts here, however only one as my husband had come down with a cold and we spent an extra night elsewhere to try to shake it off.
Favara is not much to write home about except it’s a good spot to see the Valley of the Temples in Agrigento.
Our travel agent booked us into the Alba Palace (more about that in a seperate review) and the associated restaurant is this. Surprisingly, it is the best restaurant in Favara.
Well, after our dinner tonight, it is one of the best restaurants ever.
Our waiter Giovanni was exemplary with the wine recommendation, and service. The amuse Boucher was delightful arancini with chickpea flour discs.
For main course we selected red mullet with pesto and potato flakes (like mini French fried), and the grilled octopus on mashed chickpeas and sweet onion. Both dishes were sublime. To top it off we had a salad and French fries. Just perfect.
Probably the best dinner we’d had to n the two weeks we’ve been in Europe.
Sad to think we were the only diners on a Friday night.
It is exceptional and deserves to do well. Outstanding value for money.
