It's a wonderful cottage on the edge of a small village. We were in the smaller room, which has a private bathroom with a lovely shower downstairs. The bed is probably the best I have slept in. The gardens are lovely, we enjoyed a couple of pre evening drinks in the sun on a table they had in the garden. It's a five minute stroll to the pubs and shop in the centre of the village.
The breakfast was exceptional, every aspect was lovely. My wife even commented on the crunchyness of the corn flakes!!! She waid the scrambled egg was the best she had ever had too. The little fried breads were expertly prepared too.
At £50 it is a great value place and perfect to explore up and down the coast - its 20-30 mins drive away to Southwold.
Beautiful cottage with charming gardens on the outskirts of Stradbroke.
My wife and I stayed for 3 nights and stayed in the larger room which has an olde world feel to it with exposed beams and slightly uneven floor! Two windows look out over the garden where you can sit and watch the birds feeding, we even saw two Pheasants in the garden. There is no en-suite bathroom but its right next door to the bedroom and quite large, bright and airy and is cleaned every day.
Suzan provides a full cooked breakfast with cereals, yogurt and toast which will set you up for the day, she is also a welcoming host and keeps the cottage spotless.
Stradbroke is a fairly quiet village but does have a couple of local pubs which both serve traditional pub meals up till 8pm, we tried both, and both provided great evening meals before returning to Bumble Cottage for a restful night.
We stayed here for 1night. The accommodation is clean and bright. The surrounding area is beautiful. The owners were so helpful and very nice. The only downfall was the bed was a bit small and slipped.
Wow, this is the nicest B+B I've ever stayed in. We'd stayed in the smaller of the two rooms however wished we'd stayed in the larger one because the extra cost is nothing for what you get. The smaller room was gorgeous, such comfy beds, everything you needed and the view of the garden was stunning!! Everything we needed was there in the room and I loved the Contry decor....so clean and so much character!! Suzanne was very attentative and friendly and lived in the main part of the house so we had our own key. Her breakfast was outstanding! Such a beauty full find and will definitely be visiting Stradbroke again so we can stay again in this wonderful magical getaway. Thank you. Hope to see you next year xx
Superb character filled 16th Century thatched Bed & Breakfast accommodation. We stayed for 2 nights and had a great nights sleep in the Vaulted room. Suzan was a very attentive and friendly host who went out of her way to to make you feel welcome. Tea and coffee making facilities in the room and also a small fridge. Breakfast was great and set us up for the day. We would highly recommend this B & B and look forward to our next stay at this delightful property.
We stayed at Bumble Cottage for two nights, as we were attending a family party in Stradbroke. It is a beautiful 16th century thatched cottage. Lots of interesting finds in the garden. The rooms are lovely and clean, the bedroom with the high ceiling is so characterful. Susan the owner, is friendly and hospitable without being overbearing. Would recommend 100%.
We stayed here for our honeymoon night....
It was perfect, so quiet, very welcoming. It was February and frosty outside but in our beautiful vaulted bedroom we were warm and snuggley. The building was full of character, so many interesting objects scattered round the rooms and garden. We had a full English breakfast which was included in the price of our stay, we were so full we didn't eat again til the evening. We weren't asked for a deposit and the lovely owner rang me the day before to make sure we knew the way to Bumble Cottage.
