Have you thought it would be great to get away on a bargain break flight to a destination like Geneva only to discover that all the hotels on the Lake side cost the earth? So what happened to the cheap weekend? Well here's the solution. Check out the Hotel Jean-Jacques Rousseau in, would you believe it, Rue Rousseau. This is a small privately run bed and breakfast hotel situated in an ideal location for exploring Geneva.
Whilst it may not be on the lake front, you are just two minutes walk away from where the River Rhone exits Lake Geneva and only 5 minutes walk down hill from the main Geneva Railway station that has direct communications with the airport, a mere 10 minutes by train.

Whilst the entrance from the street may seem a little unimposing, a door
adjacent to a local restaurant followed by a walk up to the first floor
reception, do not be put off. You will receive a warm welcome, more often than not from the Patron, a man of many talents, not least as he speaks any number of European languages, so communication will never be a problem.

The majority of rooms are above average size for a bed and breakfast ,
particularly if you are located in the front of the hotel, but to my mind,
what is perhaps more important, is that they are clean and fresh. Forget
the decor, you only sleep in the rooms because for the rest of the time you should be out exploring and enjoying the delights of Geneva - the old historic city, the walks alongside Lake Geneva, the day trips on the Lake, the magnificent Jet de L'eau - the 140 m water fountain that is minutes walk from the hotel.

The hotel is in the heart of Geneva. Within 10 minutes you can be eating in such top quality restaurants as Le Richmond or in the more informal traditional ones in the old town around the cathedral, dipping in to a bowl of classic fondue. So why spend the money on a luxurious lake front room which you may briefly appreciate, particularly for the eight hours you are asleep, when you could be treating yourself to some of the gourmet delights of the city or dare I suggest a Swiss watch or some beautiful jewelry.

Hotel Jean-Jacque Rousseau is a bargain given its location and should not be missed.
