Seton Sands Holiday Park - Haven
Reviewed August 31, 2013

Travelled on my own with four year old boys for a short week break, Monday - Friday. They loved it, ideal for their age group.
Caravan was fine - booked deluxe, no heating in bedrooms which you would need if chillier weather. We self catered all week and caravan was very well equiped.
Top marks to the Leisure staff - they were great, just a very small team. Boys did mini football and fencing, same guy did both and he was amazing with them especially for the fencing 1/2 hour. Swam most days, pool quite cold but boys didn't seem to mind, lifeguards friendly and welcoming. Crazy golf was small but fine for kids @ £2.50 each.
Park was always clean and well kept, litter pickers a plenty.
Fab play park.
Bar staff and glass collectors always pleasant and would chat to you.
Customer services before arrival and on site was good, Laura called to offer upgrade and was same person who checked us in. My little one lost a Bradley Bear on the last day and the lady at Customer Services replaced it. Excellent.
The downside is the entertainment and surprisingly the Funstars specifically. With exception to Chris no-one really made much of an effort to speak to the kids. At one day time event, there was only four kids and Abi didn't even ask their names - just purely going through the motions. At the arts and crafts session, the paints and paper were given out and collected at the end with no conversation at all.
On the evenings, I'm presuming he's the main guy (?), he does bring in back in with great interaction for adults and kids with the games and fun - without him the whole entertainment team would be abysmal. On the whole a complete disappointment in comparison to other Haven sites, their other trading companies and competitors.
The best bits of my boys holidays is the kids clubs and evening times and I just felt let down on this occasion and probably won't return due to the entertainment team.

We stayed here for 3 nights in mid August. Our caravan was lovely and spacious for 4 adults and one 3 year old, we booked privately though.

The place itself was very clean, with friendly staff and enough to do over 3 days. If we stayed longer it may have become boring but 3 days was perfect.

The best thing is the location though. 20 minutes drive away is North Berwick, which is a stunningly beautiful seaside town with great beach. Further down the road is East Links Family Park in Dunbar, we spent the whole day there and it's one of the best country parks we've been to, and reasonably priced as the stuff is free once you're in.

The message here is its a perfect place for a short break, probably not for a week or two.

Stayed here with 11 other family members when attending a wedding in Edinburgh and was pleasantly surprised after reading bad reviews! Clean ,spacious caravans! The kids enjoyed the pool, a little busy at times!!, and the amusements.and park. Some choice language coming from young kids on their own at the park at times! .A very reasonable bus service into Edinbugh to see some of the festival.£1.50 for adults, 75p children!takes over an hour!!Breakfast was actually really nice and good value!Nearby North Berwick was a lovely beach.Musselborough good for shopping.Takeaway fish and chips in Port Seton nice(Benes??)road opposite co-op.All in all an enjoyable week, and a good base for Edinburgh, and probably for golfers, as on the Golf Coast Road, with some gorgeous scenery. The old Aberlady Inn was excellent reasonable food in Aberlady down the coast. It is open despite what its website says!!

It's a very well kept clean park with good shows and stuff for kids, but it can get tedious as its a small park and parents pockets can only stretch so far! We stayed in a standard plus 3 bed caravan which was spotless and clean and ideal... We looked at superior etc and to be rather honest.. Don't waste your money. It's a good base for exploring Edinburgh and east loathian,

Plus marks.. Great location for sightseeing.
Clean well maintained park.

Minus.. Showbar is small and gets too hot! Air conditioning needed.
More play parks for kids.

Room Tip: St. Andrews area is nice and quiet

i was told i would hate it and the place was filthy and nothing to eat after 6pm so i wasnt really looking forward to going........but it wasnt anywhere near as bad as most of these reviews.
we didnt go swimming but it wasnt as busy as people said, the place was lovely and clean we went private and our van was lush, granted not loads to do but this is alot smaller park than the likes of primose and haggerston, the entertainment was cheesy but again you have to expect that when you go to these places, food was available til 9pm and the chip shop til 11pm i think some people just nitpick if the kids are happy then you will have a fab time.

Just returned from a week's holiday with husband and 3 kids. Our caravan was ok but maybe a little small for a family of 5. We had booked a superior caravan and it was better than others we have had in the past. The kids play park is great and looks as though it has recently been refurbished. As for the entertainment complex, well, where to start?! Every table that we sat at, whether previously having been occupied or not, were always sticky and dirty. The funstars work hard but the entertainment is abysmal! You couldn't hear what they were shouting as the quality of the sound system was rubbish! There could also do with having air conditioning on in the show bar as at times it was unbearably hot. Probably a ploy to get you to buy more drinks!! As for a Spice Girls show, I don't think any of the kids knew any of the songs and no one was dancing. Think there needs to be more audience involvement and perhaps some More up to date tunes! We found a great place called Craig House, a brewers after pub in Mussleburgh that did great food and had a kids playground. Great to go for breakfast there as kids under 16 eat free! Seton Sands was a good base for visiting Edinburgh but we won't be returning.
