“Great wee park”
Reviewed April 27, 2012

Just arrived back today from Seaton sands. It was myself, husband, 2 year old and baby. On arrival the staff were helpful and polite and when they realised that we didnt drive they moved us too the front of the park so our caravan was with easy walking distance for everything for us.

Our Van itself was a three bedroom deluxe plus with the heating in the bedrooms. I would say that the heating in the rooms was pretty useless and if going this time of year maybe take your own portable heater with you as it does get cold. We had our gas fire on 24/7 and would say it was comfortable but not overly warm. The van itself was clean and fresh on arrival

I found the grounds of the park immaculate but would say that it is smaller than I expected. I think for anytghing older than preschoolers it may be a bit to small and they may get bored.

we were self catering and only eat in the park resturant a few times, i would rank the food as average a bit like a wetherspoons not some were i would choose to eat every night but for the odd occasion was ok. Breakfast for two adults and a kids cooked breakfast was £16 we only done it once preferred eating in the van in the morning. Dinner for a sharing platter 2 adult mains a kids main and a huge sharing ice cream and one drink each came just under £50. There is also a cgip shop on site that was ok and done pastas etc as well which was nice enough. Local chinese resturants alo deliver to the park.

overall we had a good stay and would go back if we got a good enough deal . we only paid £100 for 5 days. wuldnt pay more than that

Room Tip: If you are a light sleeper ask to be nearer the back of the park as you will hear people walking pas...

booked a 2 bed superior caravan and ended up with a 3bed. very nice inside with toaster, microwave, flat screen tv. was just infront of football pitch which was good for kids during day but not when a group of drunken adults decided to have a game of football at 2am. the gate should be locked after a certain time. liked this park but i thought the security at night could have been better very noisy and what appeared to be a motobike gang revving engines at 3am on sat night. not going to ask for a caravan near entertainment again music too loud at night. i dont understand why the kids entertainment has to be so loud either, it was louder than the rock concert i was at a couple of weeks ago, it cant be good for the kids hearing!

We booked Seton Sands through the Sun holidays for a long weekend as we only stay 45min away and just wanted a break with the kids( 2 girls 5yrs,3yr old). Caravan was spotless, larger than expected and the site itself was well kept. Never had pillow cases on pillows when we arrived but we phoned reception and they delivered them almost straight away. The Funworks area is smaller than other haven sites that we have been to but is sufficent for the size of the site and as per normal is full of arcades so plenty pound coins needed. The Terrace bar is the restuarant there and we had no complaints whatsoever with food, price or service. The showbar could be doing with bit of a makeover but the entertainment for kids there is excellent, the Funstars really go out there way to make sure the kids have a great time day and night so the adults can relax a little. The chipshop on site is really good and well worth a visit and prices are reasonable, no more than you would pay at home. Our only complaint is the swimming pool. The size would have been ok if they controlled the amount of people going in, it was far to busy to even move and they only have about 10 changing rooms which was as you can imagine useless. We will definitley be back though and overall had a very good break

We stayed in a new model caravan it was lovely ! But did have to request clean bedding for sofa bed as what had been left was dirty! Park facilities basic not as nice as other haven sites but didn't spend much time there as we went to go to Edinburgh every day . For a family of five you won't get better value cheap bus runs frequently from outside. The staff were lovely. Visited pandas at the zoo, galleries museum and royal yacht . All in all a great base for Edinburgh and would certainly return !

First impressions - spacious living room, small flat screen tv and dvd player. Heaters in bedrooms though we weren't expecting them - thank god as it was a freak week with sub-arctic temperatures. Cleanliness not great - I will never understand why Haven have beige carpets but it was well grubby. Bin filthy and the two single bedrooms smelled of old socks. Staff on reception were very friendly and although we were early called me on mobile when caravan ready. The cooking facilities are very limited. A lovely oven but no baking trays or frying pan. I ended up having to improvise with tinfoil! Bizarrely there were no dinner plates in the van at all. Had to improvise with tea plates. I called at 10 on the second morning to request some but ended up having to ring back at 2 because none had arrived. We also reported a broken seat which was fixed quickly. Entertainment great for small kids. Funstars were great with the little ones - my daughter loved it. Not sure what the adult entertainment was like as we didn't stay past 9.30. There is a decent kids park with a toddler bit, a small indoor pool and an indoor sports range and astroturf football pitch. The site is right opposite a beach which is a lovely view - it would have been nice to walk on if it hadn't been so cold and wet. We had a day out at the Royal Yacht Brittania and another at Edinburgh Zoo which were within half hour's drive. The location is excellent. There is a laundry, Spar, chippy and small store on site but you are better turning left and going to the coop which is much cheaper. There's also a nice cafe, a fishmonger, a chemist, a chinese restaurant and various takeaways within a short walk. We had a great time - the only other disappointment was the chavtastic family in the caravan next door who did nothing about their kids screaming and blasting their football off our car and the caravan despite me asking them to stop and several signs prohibiting ball games.

We went to seton sands on a sun holiday and I would go back every year if it wasn't so far away!!
First offwe had terrible windy weather when we arrived, when we got into our caravan the pilot light in the boiler had blown out. But by the time I had got from reception back to the caravan the problem had been rectified! I was very impressed as they must have had a lot of them going out!
The caravan was a bit cold an damp but that was our fault for not having the amazingly good gas fire on all the time.....I'm just a bit funny about leaving gas fires on! Was clean and plenty of room for me, my partner and two small children. My only slight complaint about the caravan was that there wasn't much room to put a travel cot up but we managed. The kitchen was separated off from the living room which was good with two little ones!

The entertainment was brilliant. It is what you make it. And I want to say a big tank you to late fun stars of sept 2011 who made a little boy fall in love with a big tiger, elephant and bear! The kids loved it! My other half was doing limbo at over 6 foot tall....it was good family fun! Food was ok and average prices really. A tesco not too far in a car if you want to do a big shop before you get there. The pool was lovely and very quiet!

Edinburgh zoo was a must do. Just hop on the bus that picks you up outside the site and it's pence to get there and back. Was just brilliant....we did not want to come home!
