Just spent three nights here. The hotel has lovely large bedrooms. We booked a twin room which had a double bed and a large camp style single bed, which was not what we were expecting. Hospitality tray contained tea and coffee with milk, but no bottled water, which one would expect today. The bathroom was good, clean with plenty of towels. The shower over the bath though is poor with water trickling out at a snails pace. The restaurant is excellent. The variety and quality of the food is very good and plentiful. However they did not have any sugar free desserts for diabetics, or diabetic jam at breakfast time. The staff were excellent, and made the stay a most pleasurable one.

Stayed here for first time on a golf outing to near by Blairgowrie . This is a homely well run hotel with good rooms, food, location and friendly staff. The owner Alan goes out of his way to welcome you and ensure your stay is comfortable. There was confusion over our bill of which we were not aware until Alan arrived at the golf club we were playing to personally return the over payment we had made. Can't get better service than that!
No hesitation in recommending The Red House Hotel.

Our group of ten has just returned from our third annual trip to the Red House Hotel - and next year's trip is already booked. We received the usual warm welcome from Alan Bannerman and all of his staff, and appreciated the very comfortable and spacious rooms. Dinner on both nights was great with some superb specials on offer in addition to the very extensive menu, and everyone enjoys the substantial breakfasts. The value offered by the Golf, DB&B packages is outstanding (we played Lansdowne, Rosemount and Alyth which were all in the very best condition) - and all the arrangements are made for you! But it's the friendliness and service from everyone at the hotel which makes for a special trip - you won't regret staying here whether or not you're playing golf.

Just had two enjoyable nights at this hotel with four friends where we stayed for a golfing break. Rooms spacious clean and comfortable and the food superb along with very pleasant service. What more could we ask for? We will certainly be visiting The Red House Hotel in the future.

just had to write and congratulate all the staff and Alan Bannerman at the red house hotel, for making our wedding on 3rd August 2013 a fantastic occasion, all staff were very professional and obliging, nothing was too much trouble. everyone enjoyed the meal and buffet at night, most of us couldn't eat much at buffet as we were all still full after our delicious meal after the wedding.( but i had to have a homemade sausage roll there out this world) most of the bedrooms were huge, comfortable and warm, not a bad word from anyone who attended the wedding and stayed overnight, everyone said they definately will go back, we will be thats for sure. well done to all.
just a extra note to say me and my now husband and 3 others from the wedding party went for a meal on the thursday before wedding and they still raving about the fillet steaks, best steak they've ever hard. you must go and try them you wont be disappointed. excellent service.x

Room Tip: all rooms are large and comfortable.

Stayed here on a Tuesday night in August 2013. Paying 85 pounds for bed and breakfast is pretty much run of the mill.

The room was on the first floor, no lift so stairs to navigate. Luckily they are wide and easy to get up.
The rooms are huge; I have stayed in rooms that would fit into this one 3 times. Obviously a combination of countryside and an older establishment. The bed however as only a double and a bit lost along with the single in the room. It was a steel framed bed with the springs across the base; my wife woke complaining of a sore back. A more modern bed would be a good addition.
The bathroom was large as well but showing its age.
The big downside of this room was the thin curtains; early morning the sun made the room as bright as midday. Surely some thicker curtains could be installed? We were wake at 0630 so not like we slept in all morning. Just don't run the Range Rover for a week and you'll be able to put them in, Mr Owner.
Breakfast and dinners were pleasant enough in the conservatory; normal fried breakfast with cereals and toast. The lady serving was very pleasant to all and made the morning start nice.

Room Tip: A room facing West may be darker in the morning

What a disappointment i got when i took my mother for lunch on 04/08/13. We have been coming here for years for the excellent value and good meals however on Sunday we both order the fish and chips and were served a smaller than usual plate with a tiny bit of fish and small portion of chips this is the first time i have left this place still hungry!
Very disappointing if this is how they treat regular customers. We wont be back there are plenty of other nice hotels nearby that offer affordable good wholesome meals.
