When booking a wedding party event, it had to be Stirling, it had to be central and easy to find, it had to have plenty of parking, I also needed about 50 comfortable and spotless rooms. I needed a great room to party, without being wary of getting on the floor first. I needed great friendly staff who would enjoy the night with us and go the extra mile for my guests. I needed great food at a great price and a bar you're not scared to buy a drink from. All of these needs were met by the King Robert, Bannockburn, we got out bill this morning, can't believe it!!!

Booked in here to stay after a wedding reception. Made to feel very welcome from arrival at the reception. Managed to get a double instead of twins bed which was much more comfortable for my friend and I. Drinks very reasonably priced which made for a merry evening. The room for the reception was great with good acoustics which made the band and singers sound even better. Once the main party had gone home the residents were tolerated for a couple more hours thanks to the good natured staff. Think we did get a special rate as it was for nearly all the rooms in the hotel for the wedding party but would definitely come again as its so handy.

our experience with this hotel began extremely well from the initial call to book the accommodation required, a very helpful and informative contact at the hotel reception.

we required a family room for one night and we certainly got that!!
the room was the best we have seen for our requirements very clean and with plenty space for our whole party including two small children under three. (we could have fitted the whole of Robert the Bruce's army in the room)

we did not initially request a cot but when we did they ensured we had it assembled before we came back from a fantastic meal in the restaurant , all home made and plenty of it.

we were leaving early in the morning before breakfast was served but the staff that were on duty the previous evening and in the morning ensured we were offered continental style breakfast for the children and ourselves before we checked out and everyone could not be more helpful.
thank you all for a wonderful stay and we will be back,
Scottish hospitality at its very best! and outstanding value for money we have paid double the price elsewhere and not had half the experience or cleanliness, never mind the space.
the staff were all very professional.

Room Tip: ask for a family room (232) ours was huge with a large screen TV and comfy sofas as well as two doub...

When we arrived at the hotel the staff were friendly but when we asked if we could have a cot for our son, 2 members of staff didn't know where it was!! Granted it was put in our room but overall impression of the check in service was poor. Neither of them explained where the bar/restaurant, breakfast etc were located! We were simply told 'your room is through that door!'

We walked through to our room to come across the most awful smell in the corridor leading to our room! The room itself however was clean, spacious & nice.

The restaurant staff in the evening were friendly, the service was good as was the food.

We arrived for breakfast to discover there was no clean tables! We asked one of the waitresses for a high chair & she asked, "where do you want it?!" Our reply was, you tell us! She put the chair down & walked away! No one came to clean our table or reset it! We had to get cutlery, cups etc for ourselves while she proceeded to walk about like she couldn't be bothered! Very poor service & disappointing end to our stay!

Will not stay again or recommend to anyone else! Need to sort your staff out & clean up a bit!

Dear Guest
Thank you for your comments left on the Trip Advisor Site. I am glad you enjoyed your evening meal in the Bistro. On this occasion our high standards in customer service seemed to have failed, thank you for bringing this to my attention.

My husband & I have just returned from a three night break at this hotel, received a warm welcome & although we were early we were able to get into our room. Accommodation very good, food & staff were exceptional, to top it all the weather was absolutely fantastic, hotter than the med !!! all in all we would have no hesitation in recommending this hotel to friends & family and we will be back hopefully next year.

My family and I are just back from a four night break at the King Robert Hotel in Stirling. We stayed on a dinner, bed & breakfast basis and the value for money was outstanding. The hotel staff were welcoming, friendly and very helpful. Our rooms were clean and the beds were very comfortable. The Scottish breakfast was served buffet style, with a hot and cold selection and you could help yourself to as much as you wanted. It was tasty, hot and very satisfying. Dinner was served in the Bistro, there was a very good three course selection of dishes on the menu and the portions were generous. The hotel location gave access to Loch Lomond and Loch Katrine and all the surronding attractions. We even managed to travel to the Highland Wildlife Park in Kincraig in just over two hours. The Bannockburn Heritage Centre in currently under construction next door to the hotel and should be completed in 2014. The Centre when completed should add greatly to the area and the hotel will compliment the new Centre. I can't wait to return to see this historic site in all its glory.
