Only just opened ,two weeks ago, still settling in and lending a hear to all suggestions and criticism.Emphasis is on a small bistro style changing menu, that will not break your wallet,
I have had four different meals here, all great . Beef empanadas, steaks with bearnaise sauce, freshest fish, crumbed pork chops with warm potato salad & apple mouse, the yummiest lentil curry ,
Mid day meals like quiche of the day, watercress and egg mayo or B/L/T sandwiches, all served on dinkum panini or baguettes ,( baked regularly on the premises ), vegetarian spring rolls, chicken liver pate .The long term plan, the chef /patron informs me ,will be to increase the variety of dishes available weekly, and have deli style meals, catering for the working family and out of town folk ( who own holiday homes here ) the opportunity to purchase their meals as they arrive for their week end breaks from the city.
Something, that has been lacking in this and most other nearby sea side villages. Quality and affordability. He also caters for all sorts of functions, I have been lucky enough to experience that side, on two occasions. Its next to the Pam Golding Real Property office , just set off the main road ( Clarence Drive, or R 44,) the building is painted a espresso colour, outdoor garden sitting also available, with sea and mountain views, only 100 metres from the Harold Porter National Botanic Gardens. Go now. !
And its BYO, ( not licensed, take your own favourite bottle of wine )
