“Penguin Colony 1 hour from Cape Town”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 19, 2012

The Stony Point penguin colony in Betty's Bay is well worth the drive. Lots of penguins to be seen seven days a week. In 1982 a penguins started nesting at Stony Point. In 2010, 1 244 breeding pairs were counted according to the Oversstrand Municipality who is managing the facility. A viewing platform and boardwalk is available for visitors to get very close to the penguins.
