“nice holiday but not next time”
Reviewed July 1, 2009

Hotel overpriced, coffee=4€, local pint 5.5€, room shabby, mould on bathroom ceiling, floor floods on emptying bath fittings missing or loose in bathroom,-shower over a very small bath-not thermostatically controlled-ice cold to scalding in two secs. But bed linen changed 2 to 3 times in our week stay. Food from seventies, entertainment from fifties- anybody remember Pearl Carr and Teddy Johnson. Few tavernas nearby but did not try them. Supermarkets nearby expensive as well. Beach and sunbeds very good, although I would have liked the sand to have been cleared of sharp stones and wood fragments hidden below the surface. Beach side restaurant huge dissappointment, fresh fish expensive -Red Snapper 62€/kilo, most items on menu *previously frozen!!!! Pervasive stench of sewage in gardens in the evening, which drew in the mosquitos. Staff were very attentive which did not make up for the shrt comings. check taxi prices we travelled in two taxis to the port, we were charged 7 €, our fiends in the other taxi 15€? My fourth visit to greek isles- dissappointed every time-would not have gone this time but for a wedding, I will not be returning. Oh the icing on the cake is the airport, -capacity 3 planes! departure terminal capacity 1 1/2 planes, Toilets broken, hugh queues, men and women alike, we were delayed both ways, I suspect because of airport capacity.

we arrived our room had to be changed. the rooms are ok the beds are very hard indeed like sleeping on the floor. the maid service was hard work towels changed late at night. it was like staying in appartments . the grounds are lovely and the beech lovely and sun beds. staff did make the stay worth while they are all lovely. the food is absolutely awful we did try it but ended up eating out most nights. this hotel is over prised and should only be 3 star. we will return to the island but not to this hotel very disapionting indeed as all the reviews seem to be good yet there was a lot of conplaints about the food and the entertainment wich was as bad as the food.the rooms were nicer across the road in the appartments. this is not good. please if the manager gets to read this you no this is happening as every day people would tell u about the food and the entertainment please listen and change things, people should not be wondering around in the evening looking for something to do, please take note.

This was a very relaxing hotel the ameneties were exactly as outlined in the brochureand the sun loungers were the best I have ever known. The staff were all very polite and helpful and the maid service was fantastic clean towels twice a day and your bed turned down at night and toiletries replenished. We went early season and there was never any rush or too many people which was exactly what we wanted but I can imagine peak season may be different. The only complaint I have is the prices of the drinks in the hotel but there are other tavernas near by,The green park has the most comfortable seating of all the local ones we went to.This Island is stunnuing and we will certainly be returning and staying at the princess.

I have just returned from my first holiday to Skiathos. The Princess is a lovely hotel, set right on the beach. The sunloungers were very comfortable and a real treat. The hotel staff were extremly helpful and polite at all times. The drinks were pricey in the restaurant and bar, but there are few good tavernas near the hotel to drink at after dinner. Will definately stay at this hotel again in the future!

We got married on the beach at this hotel and it is wonderful! The rooms are spacious, very well styled, with a safe, small fridge/mini bar, big bathroom, lots of storage, lights & mirrors with good aircon. Only thing which isn't fantastic is the hairdryer... recommend you take your own if you have thick hair or like to blow dry! Clean towels, turn down service & re stocking of minibar & shampoo etc daily. All of the staff were extremely friendly, helpful and polite, remembering names & drink orders etc. OK, so anything you pay for at the hotel is at a slight premium; minibar, bottles of wine etc but not a massive amount more than anywhere else in Skiathos plus there's a supermarket, bars & plenty of alternative places to eat within walking distance. Personally we thought the surroundings deserved the extra few Euros as you really do feel special at this hotel. The beach is great with big comfy sunloungers which are free (it's worth noting that most other hotels on beaches charge 8 euros per day) The pool area is gorgeous & the gardens very green & well maintained. We were half board although didn't make it to breakfast that often (note to the management of the hotel.... stretch the breakfast out until 11 a.m.) and as we had friends & family on the Island we ate out some nights too however there was plenty of choice & the hotel food was good. Other friends who stayed at this hotel loved it too & we'd certainly recommend it for a romantic & restful break. We'll definately go back for an anniversary in the future.

We stayed at the Skiathos Princess in mid may 2009 for 7 nights. It was a lovely hotel, very clean and comfortable surroundings - especially the thick sunbed cushions not just round the pool but on the beach also!

The rooms were very nice and kept well cleaned wih daily maid service.

All the staff were very friendly & helpful.

The food was good, sometimes they could have done with a little more choice in the evenings but overall - there was always something you liked - lovely fresh salads etc and you certainly never left hungry!!

I would certainly recommend this hotel out of the months of July and August (when the whole island gets packed we heard) for a very relaxing holiday.

Stayed at the Skiathos Princess from 20th May for one week.

Both my husband and I were desperate for a weeks relaxation with no hassles and that is exactly what we got!

The staff were all extremely helpful and pleasant. We were treated with courtesy and respect from arrival to departure.

Our room was a deluxe room, sea facing. It was immaculate and extremely quiet, bedding and towels changed daily if required. Very generously sized and quality toiletries are arranged in the marble bathroom upon arrival. The maids did a bedding turn down service each night... and also early evening delivered clean towels. (which by the way were brand new and the fluffiest you could ever want!)

Restaurants provided a multitude of food to eat, which was varied much better than many high class hotels we have previously stayed in. I'm quite fussy adn certainly didn't go hungry. The suites and puddings are fantastic.

The great thing with the princess is the fact that the pool and beach are so close together all immediate to the hotel, it really made for a lazy week. The grounds of the hotel are immaculate and the pool area kept to a very high standard.

The beach was cleaned on the day we were leaving. The loungers are fantastic and very luxurious... as good as they look in the photos!

All in all this hotel provided us everything we wanted and we left knowing that we will return again (which is something we never do)

You will love it!
