“really very good”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 4, 2012

My wife and I stayed here for a week in Sptember - wall to wall sunshine ! Hotel is spacious, clean and well run - although not really the '5 stars' claimed. Rooms of a generous size, well kitted out. Food , although not exceptional, was very good for a hotel - plenty of choice, servings could be what you chose. Staff were excellent - very courteous and helpful. The complimentary bath robe, slippers and beach/pool towels were a big bonus - as was not having to pay for the sun beds on the beach.
Our hair drier wasn't working - the hose was split- but a word at reception, and we were handed another.
My wife was unwell and unable to get to the restaurant - but a word with the restaurant manager and a small selection was sent up to the room. The medical service from town was first rate - very thorough and effective - spot on.

The only real negative is that parts of the hotel can be rather tricky for someone with mobility issues - but again, this could be addressed by talking to the administrative staff so as to be given a suitably located room.
The bar - quite pricey, but generally well stocked. Service speeds here could be improved.

All in all a very nice place to stay - right on the beach, easy access to town with bus stop outside, several other bars, tavernas and restaurants close by.

Skiathos town is enchanting - look for the smaller places in the alleys of the old town for good food, cheaper prices, ambience - and good views very often.
The day trip by boat from the harbour to Skopulos and Alonissos is well worth it - beautiful islands.
And if, like us, you find yourself having to wait a little longer than expected for the flight home, the taverna on the corner near the terminal building is a great place to spend a few hours without hastle - and you can watch the planes coming and going within a few feet of you.

Perhaps not truly '5 Star', but an excellent hotel nonetheless. The ('deluxe sea-view') rooms are modern, spacious and very clean, the staff friendly and helpful and the food in the restaurants was consistently very good. What's more, the beach is arguably the best on the island.

Room Tip: We had a 'deluxe sea-view' room on the top (4th floor) level of the hotel, which is built in...

My Husband and I stayed here with our 3 year old son, family and friends. We arrived on Sept 14th and stayed for 2 weeks. We got married on the beach on Sept 24th. The wedding totally exceeded our expectations. Stella (wedding co- ordinator) did a fabulous job of making our dream wedding come true.

We stayed in a family room with private garden which was perfect for us and our son. It was lovely to have a safe outside space for him to play whilst we got ready.

The communal areas are very comfortable and pleasant to spend time in. The pool area is lovely. The childrens pool is perfect for toddlers as the water is very shallow at one end. The beach is great with fabulous scenery.

We Stayed on a half board basis and the food was excellent for both breakfast and dinner. The staff were very helpful and friendly. There were 28 people in our party and everyone had much praise for the hotel and staff.

We wanted a week of total relaxation, and that's exactly what we got! Our stay at the Skiathos Princess was everything we could have wished for and more: comfortable, peaceful, welcoming and perfectly placed for everything we wanted (which admittedly was just somewhere to lie and read, with the occasional dip in the sea! The beach here is perfect, fine golden sand with crystal clear water for bathing; we had a room with a private plunge pool (very nice), which we used sparingly as it was late September. As for the hotel itself, it was spotless, the maid service and maintenance was excellent; the food was good at breakfast (crepes particularly so) and we tried the Asian a la carte which was very good and the buffet, which was a little disappointing. The staff throughout were outstanding, very friendly, nothing too much trouble...just how good service should be! One small point - the room we had was very well equipped, and the fittings good, but the bathroom suite was a little tired (it looked like they were upgrading gradually though). there are many good eating places nearby, we tried the Patanias and Jimmy's, both of which were good, but our favourite was Taverna Avli, tucked away on the road behind the small supermarket - family-run, home cooked food and a lovely atmosphere (lots of repeat business!). Overall, an excellent holiday, and highly recommended!

Room Tip: One of the advantages of having a room with private pool was being able to easily access the pool ba...

Returned last night from the beautiful island of Skiathos, made even more enjoyable as we stayed in the Skiathos princess hotel. Although our room was a little tired, especially the bathroom, we still enjoyed a most memorable stay. if you have stayed in genuine 5 star before, you may be a little dissapointed as some of the public ares are in need of a little TLC.
However, the breakfast choice was amazing and the staff very helpful. There is a wonderful beach with free comfortable beds to use just a stroll from the best pool area we have seen for some years. Mostly quiet but on occasions a little more noisy as there is a good area for young children to play...not really a problem if you have drank a bottle of Rose wine over long relaxing lunch laid on magnificent cushions between the private beach and the restaurant!!
A frequent bus service runs from just outside the hotel into Skiathos town, cost less than 4 euro for the two of us and was much more fun on the way back than a taxi!!!
Highly recommended hotel and island, going to book for next September this Saturday, see you there? P.S You must have a cocktail in Rock and Roll bar near the harbour, and have the best Pizza on the island at Marias just around the corner.

Room Tip: Doont waste money on a room with a pool, too much to see and do as soon as you awake.

we visited Aghia Paraskevi to spend time on the beach. the beach located in front of the hotel was amazing...very nice sunbeds, very quiet and tranquil, very classy. we had a baguette sandwich with roast ham, cheese and mustard sauce with two frape and we paid only 10 euro! the place though was amazing...so relaxing i just wanted to stay there all afternoon...to watch the sunset and chill.

We chose this hotel for its 5 stars but also for the said reputation of hosting Pierce Brosnan while shooting for Mamma Mia.

Unlike other not so lucky choices, this proved to be a good one. Everything is nice about this hotel. Location is perfect for travelling in all directions on the island you have the bus station, a supermarket and 2 very nice tavernas (Patanias and Kochily) just outside the hotel. Rooms are very cosy with elegant decoration, the bathrooms are large and all rooms have a spacious balcony or terrace with side or direct view to the sea. A fine garden lies between the hotel and the beach where guest have free access to comfy sunbeds and umbrellas. Beach towels are changed daily at the pool bar for free. The pool is clean and has a section for kids (the hotel is advertised as family friendly). Breakfast is served at the main restaurant which is opened on 2 sides in the morning and gives you a Carribean feeling. The beach restaurant has a fair menu for lunch and sometimes they have live music in the evening. If you don't feel like leaving the hotel you can have a full beautiful day in the resort. The sea is crystal clear, is sheer pleasure bathing in it. On the beach there is a water sports center where you can hire motorboats for 4-5 persons for EUR 70-100/ day plus gas (depends on the horse power of the engine) and circle the island.
Staff is nice and do their best to accommodate your requests. After the first night I asked to change my room as we were set on the north wing where a generator send its vibrations through the strucuture of the building the whole night. After taking the reception manager at the room to hear the noise, they transferred our luggages to another room.

Room Tip: rooms on the north side have a vibration noise made by the restaurant generator.
