“Nice and quiet”
Reviewed August 11, 2014 via mobile

I can possibly appreciate what some say about a lack of atmosphere but the string is nice, the food is very good and the staff were very nice. The price was much the same as anywhere else and I really enjoyed the 2 nights we ate here. I could say that the chicken souvlaki was arguably the best chicken I have ever eaten. Ok it shouldn't be difficult to make but it was far better than anywhere else I have had it.
If you are in the area you should go.

“Helpful, hardworking family”
Reviewed August 11, 2014

Just returned from a fortnigh's holiday in the Preka apartments served by the Calma Taverna. Maria cooks amazing traditional greek food, which is presented on rectangle slates with nice tasty garnish. They can cater for large groups but booking or getting there early is recommended. A big thank you for a lovely holiday.

“Best food in the area”
Reviewed August 8, 2014

Our favourite, our party of five voted secretly on all of the restaurants we ate at and then returned on the last night. Lovely good quality food at this family run restaurant and also the cheapest! Excellent stifado. Definitely worth a visit.

“Great restaurant so glad we came here!”
Reviewed August 4, 2014

Ate a fabulous meal here with friends. We were actually staying in Troulos but out friend brought us here for a night out, I am so glad he did.

I ate the most delicious Kleftico I have tried in a long time. Each meal was well presented and the restaurant itself is different to others round the island. They don't cheapen the place with the paper table cloths. It really is a cut above the rest.

“Maria's magic and Nico's nouse”
Reviewed July 31, 2014

We watched the restaurant being built some years ago and have seen it develop into probably the best on the Island. First you have to find it and this is helped if you go on the 'make a dogs day' Thompson trip (no I don't work for them) as it culminates in a cooking demo by Maria in the restaurant.

If you want to find it on your own, Bus stop 16 take the 1st left right before the Platanias restaurant and follow the road past Maistrali, Avli and Pegasus tavernas and keep going for about 400m. It's worth the walk.

The food is traditional and cooked using their own olive oil and served by Maria's boys and her husband Niko (who tends to look a little serious but has a wicked sense of humour when you get to know him). The atmosphere is what you make it. Boisterous or just a quiet meal.

Signature dishes are a plenty but the presentation of the Kleftico just steals the show. However we have never had a bad meal in all the years we have been coming to Calma.

Outstanding and highly recommended.

Lunch is also a delight and I understand breakfast is a treat too
