This was a perfect place to stay: well located, extremely comfortable and with very hospitable hosts. The rooms were comfortable and the food was wonderful. Anna looked after us superbly. The breakfasts were amazing and all the lovely cakes and scones which were home baked by Anna were very much appreciated
We woudl recommend Carr House wholeheartedly and look forward to our next visit

Perfect location and excellent service. Anna and Jack were fantastic hosts. We were only able to stay for 1 night but both my fiancee and I loved it. The room (outside cottage) was all you could ask for from a decent barn conversion. Warm, clean and very comfortable.

Breakfast was also very good. Fresh fruit and full English made with local produce. Anna was good fun and thanks to Jack for letting us take Pip and Pod for a walk.

We ate at the White Swan in Ampleforth which served excellent food/beer/wine but was only slightly let down by the somewhat inattentive staff. Not a huge problem though.

We plan tor return as it's a perfect retreat from modern life and made me feel as though I was back at my family's farm.

Our family have been frequent visitors at this idilic farm house for 2 years now . Not only is this splendid bed and breakfast settled on a hill with Yorkshire hills spread endlessly as long as the eye can see but the inside matches the perfect beauty of outside. The bedrooms are stunning and SO comfortable , the only downside is that it's very difficult to climb out of four poster beds if it weren't for the k owl edge that the most scrummie breakfast awaits with Anna's award winning marmalade . Want the best experience of ur life - then go and stay there and u won't b disappointed

stayed here for 2 nights this week, very welcoming hosts and place, delicious brekky, and i loved seeing the dogs and particularly the 12 week old puppy, totally gorgeous.
very convenient for Ampleforth Abbey and the school, and perfect for the moors etc.
remember to ask for milk the night before for your morning tea !! and the cakes that Anna bought us were totally delicious. well worth booking to stay there if you are in the area,

My fiance and I are avid hikers and were looking for a comfortable place to rest after our long excursions, we definitely found it here. The rooms were very clean and had plenty of space for the both of us. Anna was wonderful by making sure we had anything we needed from giving us nibbles when we arrived and providing the room with various teas and some essential toiletries. The cooked breakfast was delicious and just what we needed to keep us going! We were also pleased to know that a public hiking trail passes very near and provides a beautiful autumn walk. Thanks for letting us take a peek in on the puppies, wish we could have taken one home! We had a memorable holiday, we will definitely recommend you to our friends!

We stayed for a long weekend in a great room with a skylight and four poster bed (Anna had remembered me saying I was bringing a telescope during our brief phone conversation!) and our only regret was that we couldn't stay longer. Anna's home baking was superb, our accommodation was first class and the area is outstandingly beautiful. Can't recommend it highly enough.

We have just had a few days up at Carr House Farm in Ampleforth, North Yorks - not far from where I live in East Yorks but a lovely break all the same!! All thanks to Anna for her homely hospitality - and yum yum for all those super home baked cakes!! We felt at home here. We really loved the place and of course the working dogs and puppies (are you still missing one ?). I for one will be going back. Thanks Anna & Jack
