We were staying here as well as dining and enjoyed our stay in this cosy and stylish pub. We stayed in the studio - a large room with living area, kitchen and huge bed as well as an outdoor seating area overlooking the countryside (although it was too cold to sit outside!) There was also a well stocked honesty bar which was a nice touch.
The room was cold though and I think there may have been some problems with the boiler but as soon as we mentioned it they got straight onto the problem and fixed it quickly so it soon warmed up.
The restaurant is obviously a popular one so we were grateful that they rang us before arrival to check if we wanted to book a table as it would have been disappointing if we hadnt been able to eat there that night.
We chose the £75 meal for two which comprised a selection of canpaes, seafood sharing platter, spiced orange sorbet, chateaubriand with onion rings, chips, mushrooms, tomaotoes and bearnaise sauce then a platter of puddings.
All very lovely but we were stuffed by the end of it!
So, the best thing about this place is that it is a popular pub but that is also the downside as it was quite noisy in the room. Absolutly fine if you're staying up, which we were, but anyone wanting to go to bed before 1230 would have struggled with the noise.
Breakfast the next day was great with a choice of lots of egg dishes as well as the more traditional full English.
I would definitely recommend this as a restaurant and for overnight stays.
