Good music, very nice food, great beer and super atmosphere!

I had a very nice and tender rib eye steak with mushroom sauce, and some excellent home brewed beer!

Another quirky place near Takaka. They have a wonderful selection of their own beers and non-alcoholic drinks and the food is cheap but really good and plentiful. It is a place with real character and you can spend ages looking at all the things on the walls. Has a lovely outdoor beer garden too.

We stopped here based on a local's recommendation, and boy am I glad! Two of us shared the beer sampler at lunch, and had the mussels and mussel chowder. Both came with the best garlic bread I've ever had! Finishing off with a homemade chocolate was great :)

While staying at the station house motel in Collingwoo, New Zealand I was told about the mussel inn being one of the best places to eat in golden bay and i wasnt dissppointed. the beer was made there and the mussels where perfect. Really enjoyed all the outdoor seating areas and i met alot of travelers and locals all having a great time

We received several recommendations for this restaurant from folks in the area so decided to try it. By the end of our stay we had eaten at a total of 5 different places in the area and this was not our favourite. We didn't sample the beers- just came for food. It arrived promptly. Salmon was okay- not quite fully cooked but not bad enough to send back. Love salmon to be undercooked but this was not warm inside. Plate was overful with food making it difficult to eat the salad. What they refer to as "potato on the side" is a potato salad with LOTS of mayo. Would be nice just to have "potato" and not the extra calories. Steak was cooked properly but mushroom sauce did not add anything to the dish. Ambience was cool, fun with folks having a good time. Quirky for sure- lots of neat things on the walls. Staff were just lovely. But in the final analysis when you are paying basically $30 for a plate of food you end up judging things based on that. It was okay food in a very cool place.
