We stayed for four nights with a big tent for the family and a campervan. They gave us 3 sites to use without charging a cent extra. I had booked well in advance though.
The place is beautiful, but very basic and I find the title "holiday park" totally unsuitable. It is a luxury DoC camp at best ( DoC camps in NZ are basic bush camps, often only with a long drop and no other facilities).
The toilets were long drops, which stank disgustingly as soon as the breeze dropped. Showers cost 2$ per 5 minutes.
Camping was expensive. We paid $62 for the family of 4 per night, although they gave us 3 sites to fit, which was necessary! You have to take your rubbish back, but don't expect them to tell you where to take it... We found a bin in Collingwood after our stay.
There is a small playground, lots of very annoying chickens, a little coffee-shop (delicious) and a shot walk to Wharariki beach.
The camp is run by woofers, who are friendly enough but have no idea about much at all, couldn't answer any questions past the price of the site and which way to the beach.
All in all, fabulous spot, but sites too small, owner hardly even seen, chickens in the tent and van, stinky toilets. Wouldn't come back to be honest, not for that price anyway.
