Beautiful house in lovely gardens and country park. The National Portrait Gallery display is worth the entrance fee alone, so the tour of the house is a bonus. Lovely village and well worth a visit.

A superb National Trust property, Montacute House is a beautiful three-storey Elizabethan house built in the English Renaissance style using the golden local Ham stone (like most of the village of Montacute).

A magnificent Elizabethan mansion set in beautiful grounds and countryside. Definetly worth a visit. The village of Montacute is also beautiful with Ham stone cottages that have not altered since the 18th century.

I loved the house with it's tudor facade and glittering windows. The couryard cafe is lovely. The staff are freindly and helpful.

I took my young family to Montacute House and they found it so interesting (including the children's quiz) that we were there for half a day!
