The room decoration was very old (in bad way like 80's) and unfashionable. Old fake flowers everywhere in the hotel. I could see there are many things that they are saving cost - Towels are bit dull, bath mat was thin and very small, no plastic bags inside of rubbish bin. The duvet looked well used therefore it was full of pills of wool and shaggy.
I couldn't find any shampoo in bathroom and asked staff for some shampoo then I was told that they don't provide shampoo.
This is first time for me that a hotel doesn't have any shampoo.
The breakfast was nothing special, orange juice, coffee and bread are not fresh.
I paid 110 pounds for this hotel, I personally think this hotel doesn't worth it.
The day before I stayed B&B farm near by which was much much nicer, comfortable, interesting wonky wall, clean, charming room and paid 70 pounds.

We stayed here whilst attending the Glastonbury festival. The room was very clean and equiped to a high standard. The ability to gain direct external access to our bedroom without entering the hotel was much appreciated and ideal for guests returning late at night. One minor criticism was the timing of breakfast which ceased at 9.30am. At weekends, 10 am would seem to be more appropriate for last orders. The hotel is located in the beautiful village of West Camel, a visit to the parish church should not be missed.

We've often stopped off at the Walnut Tree for lunch on the way to Devon but decided to stop for the weekend this time. It was a nice friendly hotel with good food, the restaurant was a bit dear so we ate in the pub which was fine. A nice village with some good walks. The Fleet Air Arm Musem nearby is well worth a visit.

Having stayed there just recently ,I found it very friendly and with a great atmosphere ,the food was well presented and good portions.the only thing i found missing was not having any biscuits on the tea tray in the bedroom ...but otherwise it is an excellent place to stay.

I stayed here on business recently and had to write a review as The Walnut Tree was absolutely great. I stay in a lot of hotels through work and after a 6 hour drive to get to Yeovil to get for a meeting, wasn't expecting too much. The hotel/B&B was warm and welcomg (yes the decor is quite flowery but that's what I'd expect from a B&B plus the place was spotless and very cosy). There were plenty of locals drinking in the bar which gave a nice ambience and always suggests a good establishment. The staff were professional and friendly, and when we sat down to dinner we (me and 2 colleagues) were blown away. The menu was the type which is changed daily, which always bodes well, and the food was fresh, home-made by the chef (the owner?) and was absolutely delicious. The same can be said for breakfast. I opted for the full English which was cooked to perfection and not at all greasy. Throughout our stay the staff were constantly attentive but unintrusive to ensure we were comfortable and had everything we needed. They even let us keep our room after checkout time when we needed it to work in. I would definitely return if going back to Yeovil - it's only a ten minute drive away from the town too. We booked direct with the hotel and at an amazing rate of about £80 including breakfast, I think it beats a lot of the big-chain hotels we stay in hands-down.
