A sweet little cottage with a pretty garden and, although basic inside, has everything you need. The keepers are welcoming, warm and approachable but leave you in peace when you want it.
Glorious gardens and an altogther calming and happy stay.
Excellent place to stay if you love the countryside like myself. As well as being comfortable and well furnished, it had everything you need for a self catering holiday and more. E.g. Tea and coffee plus there were some homemade cookies wrapped in cellophane left on the kitchen unit when I arrived!
We recently booked a stay at Owl Cottage in the glorious Somerset countryside. The Cottage itself was delightful and really well equipped, with comfortable beds, a good shower and even a luxurious outside loo in addition to the one upstairs.
We opted for self catering but had the opportunity to enjoy delicious fresh vegetarian meals, delivered on a tray by staff, on our first day.
The Cottage sleeps up to six which offers exceptional value for money.
Perfectly located to go for trips out or bask in the extraordinarily peaceful ambiance at home.
We (reluctantly) left feeling truly rested taking a little bit of the peace back to Essex.
Don't leave without exploring the beautifully maintained magical gardens.
Owl Cottage exceeded all expectations! With front and back gardens (already filled with flowers); a large comfortable living room; well-appointed, thoughtfully stocked and newly updated kitchen; two pretty bedrooms with wonderfully soporific single beds and plenty of storage space; and a good bathroom; there was nothing more we needed. The stairs are narrow and steep, so may not suit everyone; although a gate has been fitted at their foot for children and pets.
The swimming pool and gardens in the neighbouring Centre are a fabulous added bonus. As are the amazingly helpful and kind residents at the Centre, who looked after all our queries and ensured that we had everything we needed throughout our stay. Particular thanks to Rosanne and Hananda!
Owl Cottage is situated off a quiet lane in a peaceful village surrounded by rolling green countryside and within easy reach of pretty Sherborne, spiritual Glastonbury, tranquil Wells, and the stunning Cadbury Castle and Cheddar Gorge. The village itself has an excellent pub with friendly staff and delicious food, only a few minutes walk from the cottage, and a convenience store.
I look forward to returning for another holiday.
Queen Camel is ideal for a quiet peaceful break. The high street has one pub which is friendly including the locals, that does good food, recommend the burgers.
There is one shop which has virtually everything you need including a post office. We will definitely be staying here again for the above reasons and as it is a great base to explore the surrounding area. We'll be back!!!!!!
We rented the cottage for a short break with friends. The staff were very welcoming and friendly and the cottage was cosy and good value for money, but would be enhanced by the provision of a few extras such as a microwave and a shower attachment for the bath taps.
