We booked a table at the castle for a Saturday evening meal . We arrived there at 8pm to be told buy the landlord we were late, our table was booked for 8 15pm ,I asked if was a problem as we would leave and find somewhere else to eat he just walked away , the lady who was waiting on the tables said she would bring our drinks over she was very pleasant .
After what seemed to be a age the landlord brought our drinks to the table and slamed our down in front of us , I would say I do not think his behaviour is acceptable in this day and age we will never visit again

Called in for lunch today for the first time for a journey break and thoroughly enjoyed a very simple meal. Mine was ham egg & chips, well cooked and presented, two eggs, loads of good quality ham and a large portion of freshly cooked crispy chunky chips, delicious. My husband had a ham and cheese baguette, presented with a lovely side salad and homemade dressing.
A very pleasant atmosphere, nicely presented pub and the landlord [?] made us feel welcome Certainly recommend you give this pub a try.

Popped into the Castle at West Coker one evening with a friend for an evening meal. This is a lovely old pub with a thatched roof. Meals were good but just a bit on the pricey side although they had a good deal on steaks that night. Most meals start at around £12 in the evenings. I loved the atmosphere and the landlord was very helpful. Will try the lunch time menu as that looks good! Worth giving it a go!

Called in to The Castle pub one sunny lunchtime after getting lost (!) coming back from Weymouth to Bristol in late April.

So glad we did as the cider was perfect! The landlord & kitchen agreed to make us two ploughman's lunches although it was not on the menu. It was by far the best ploughmans lunch we have ever had......ABSOLUTELY delicious, thank you!
Loved the pub too, really homely & friendly. Will be calling in again very soon!

(Sorry for late review, only just realised that pubs were on Tripadvisor!!)
