We were very pleased that we had booked as a large party of locals were there for an evening of eating, drinking and general conversation. The menu was very nice and there were three different price ranges on offer. The local wine was very nice and the meal was served in an efficient way, using quality produce. We would definately eat at the restaurant again if we are in the area.

Staying in Wailly Beaucamp (at Castel des Anges - also seriously worth a visit) we wandered up to A Ma Campagne from the B&B for a Friday night meal. Welcoming, quirky and wonderfully typical of good Gallic restaurants, we were made to feel very much at home in spite of our not-perfect French. We were early, but by the time we left the restaurant was packed with locals, which we believe always reflects well on any establishment. The food was utterly delicious - foie gras which was buttery and delicate all at once, and a steak mains that has had me raving about it ever since. We will definitely go back. I don't normally indulge in a pudding, but did so here - the sorbets were gorgeous. I've given it an 'average' for romance, because the bustle and the lighting didn't encourage 'sweet nothings', but that doesn't detract from the overall experience as the food and service were so very impressive. We will certainly go back.

We ate here when we stayed at the Castel des Anges nearby. Luckily we had managed to reserve a table in the afternoon. When we arrived later in the evening, the hosts were very friendly and welcoming and gave us a table by the open log fire. It was a Friday night and the restaurant steadily filled up and became very busy. Despite this, the service remained good.
We thoroughly enjoyed our meal and the atmosphere of the restaurant. On the €23 menu which I had, I chose a tantalising jambon starter followed by a very tasty main course of small lamb fillets that were served topped with a slice of corgette and a delicious jus of carrot and sweet turnip; this surrounding a serving of mashed new potato. On the €32 menu, the starter my wife chose was excellent – sliced foie gras served with slices of fig and a small salad. This she followed by the filet de boeuf main course which was cooked perfectly saignant – it was delicious and tender.
The wine list was quite comprehensive but was lacking information on various vintages available. So we asked the host to recommend a mature red. He suggested a Ch. Coutinel 2009 AoC Fronton; a blend of Negrette, Gamay, Syrah and Malbec. It was the perfect choice being smooth, fruity and nearing its peak, yet reasonably priced.
The restaurant is decorated in an old farmyard kitchen theme; its ingenious and amusing use of old kitchen utensils added to the atmosphere of the restaurant. There is a high level of cusine on offer, a choice of interesting beer pression available while the restaurant has a good standard of cleanliness. We will definitely come back here again.

We would go out of our way to eat here again. French cuisine at its best in a welcoming and tasteful dining room. Old meets new. Log fire and a snug bar. Perfect on a snowy January night.

We had a rather bizarre experience eating at this restaurant several years ago, but it is now under completely new management and is well worth a stop.

The Saturday lunch for 16 euros was 3 generous courses and my salmon cooked with funghi and Jerusalem artichokes was a revelation, substantial yet delicate.

The young owners/managers are charming and are genuinely keen to succeed with ambitious cooking and a commitment to good value. We'll definitely go again.
