“Extraordinary volcanic rock formation”
Reviewed January 27, 2014

Lots of marine iguanas and sea lions. Only a short ride from the pier and then you can snorkel. Part of our tour schedule not sure if you can go there as an i dividual.

“Bring sunscreen!!”
Reviewed January 18, 2014

Good snorkelling trip, but not as good as los tuneles, in my opinion. We have seen a lot of sea turtles during the snorkelling, wich was great. The land part, however, is a bit long, especially if you have seen other parts of the Galápagos before (lava, marine iguanas and sea lions everywhere). The walk takes approx. 45-60 minutes, and if you don't want to bake, don't forget your sunscreen! The majority of passengers on our boat paid 40$ or 45$ per person for this activity, but we were able to get it for 35$. A family wrote, on Trip advisor, that she paid 30$ per person to go to the Tintoreras. If you have time, shop around a bit...

“Worth the Effort”
Reviewed January 17, 2014

Las Tintoreras is an interesting place with sights you certainly won't see at home. The snorkeling is a throw-in, and not very good. The sea bed throughout the Galapagos is very bland and the water is pretty murky; but, this is the Galapagos and you never know when a manta ray, a shark or a sea turtle will come floating by.

It was our experience that all tours from Isabela are ad hoc, meaning that the agent you book with finds a captain with a boat that will make the trip, and then adds a naturalist to serve as the guide as is required in the Galapagos. Every boat takes 15-20 passengers at a time. My point being that no matter how much you pay, you get the same product, so shop around a bit and avoid the high overhead that a hotel might charge. Rather than reserving tours with our hotel, we worked with Corel Blanco (on main street down toward Iguana Crossing) and felt that we got as good a tour as anyone and probably at a better price.

“Very cool spot”
Reviewed January 13, 2014

We went with Isabela Dive center- you can arrange with them through their web site - and they had a small boat with a great English speaking naturalist who filled us in on the mating ritual of the marine iguanas, the different types of lava , the habits of the penguins, took us snorkeling with the turtles and showed us the white tipped sharks( tintorenas)
Great and easy little trip for all ages- \
also BE SURE to go with these guys to Los Tuneles, one of the coolest spots I have ever seen-

“Below my expectations”
Reviewed January 10, 2014

So after traveling by plane, boat, bus, and cab to get to the Galapagos Islands, I was a bit disappointed with Las Tintoreras. The highlight of this trip was seeing the white tip sharks in the "shark tunnel" and being able to snorkel with the tour we took.
