“Choose your weather carefully”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 4, 2013

This was a really enjoyable visit but due to the weather being windy we did not see the sharks and only one penguin. We did enjoy the iguanas and the sea lions who were very funny and almost pushed us off the path in order to get to where they were going. We were also lucky to see quite a few turtles and the lovely frigate birds. It was a superb tour. Sadly the snorkeling was far too cloudy due to the weather as well so choose your day carefully.

“Don't miss this!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 3, 2013

This excursion was one of the highlights of our stay on Isabella Island. You take a boat over to a unworldly lava rock covered island very close to the shore. There are literally hundreds of marine iguanas that make this island their home and nesting ground. Several sea lions as well. If you go at lower tides you can see white tipped sharks basking in a channel. The walk around the island is very interesting.
We boarded the boat after the hike and motored to the island just behind Concha de Perla. The snorkelling in this little bay was amazing! We saw seven sea turtles, one being groomed by cleaner wrasse fish, manta rays, puffer fish, a shark, lots of colorful fish...the snorkelling was much better than any other place on the island.
BOTTOM LINE : Do not miss this trip! It is really really good!

“great snorkeling/fun walk”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 26, 2013

So the water quality was not the best for snorkeling but we saw white-tipped reef sharks, playful sealions and sea turtles. Walked around the area for about a half hour first ,you see lots of marine iguanas, sealions and sea turtles and sharks (it the trench area). It is very pretty bring your real camera. I didn't realize we would be walking around so much first so i only brought the underwater camera and was disapointed. We passed bluefooted boobies and a penguin on the way out on some rocks and the boat went closer for better views.

“Not to miss”

Easy three hour tour where you see the famous penguins, birds, literally hundreds of iguanas, some sealions, crabs and the small white fin sharks (tintoreras), and snorkeling to a small reef where with some luck you find giant water turtles, sealions etc.

“Great snorkeling for beginners”

Warm water, calm seas and plenty of wildlife to experience up close and personal. A baby sea lion showed no fear and was willing to entertain us
