Great place to stay on Isabela, with wonderful amenities. Our family of six spent 3 nights at the Iguana Crossing which was our land base on Isabela, we took hikes and day excursions all with the help of the hotel staff. We loved the Eco friendliness of the hotel and the island. The included breakfast was delicious with lots of hot options. The staff also made us a boxed lunch when we reserved a full day excursion, something we didn't expect. Our tour guide Omar was wonderfully knowledgable and definitely showed us a great time swimming with sea turtles, white tipped sharks, eagle and sting rays...we even had the opportunity to witness manta rays the size of a car.
Thank you for everything!

Iguana Crossing was a fabulous boutique hotel on Isabela Island. The staff were all so friendly, helpful, and professional. We received a unique personal experience from turn down service nightly to a lovely dinner on the roof of the hotel overlooking the ocean. The breakfast included was delicious and provided local options to try such as fresh fruit. My husband and I appreciate the "eco-friendly" aspect of the hotel which included air conditioner units for very hot weather, but also great windows for a fresh breeze and the button in the shower for water. This is a smart, environmentally friendly aspect that keeps in line with what the Galapagos is all about...preserving it for future generations. The Wi-Fi in the lobby area and television(for movies) were both nice to have even though we only used the Wi-Fi. We completely felt like we had the opportunity to disconnect from the world around us and enjoy our vacation and the beauty of the island. It was nice because those features are available, but you truly get to RELAX. The food at the hotel was great and we had several meals there, but the staff were also quick to help with local restaurant recommendations. The staff seemed very interested in all their guests and making sure they had a perfect stay. There was a small miscommunication about our pick-up from the airport. The hotel found out about this and went above and beyond to "make it right" and we never had to say a word to them. The tour guide that the hotel uses is well-worth it for the individual attention and care he took when we went on our excursions. We told ourselves this was a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity prior to our trip, but the day we left we said we definitely wanted to come back and stay at the Iguana Crossing!

Room Tip: We personally loved the ocean front view because who doesn't want to look at the ocean in the Ga...

This is a beautiful hotel with excellent, friendly service. We were booked here for our land-based Galapagos tour by cometogalapagos.com. We enjoyed our time here and were very impressed with the professionalism of the staff. The big, irritating thing is the shower and bathroom faucet. You press a button to get the water out and it comes out for about 5-8 seconds, then turns off. If you need more water, which you will, you must push the button in again. A shower easily takes 25 pushes. They say this is for ecological reasons, which I understand. Environmental responsibility is prevalent all over the Galapagos. However this hotel has a beautiful pool and a hot tub, which of course are full of water. And they have a shower at the entrance of the hotel to rinse the sand off your feet. That shower runs continuously. No need to push a button every 8 seconds. We found it interesting how when it benefits the hotel, the "eco rule" goes away. That being said, the hotel is first-class or better in every other way. The staff is especially friendly and accommodating. Breakfast buffet is wonderful. Menu for other meals is limited, but good. They do ask that you order in advance, which seems odd. At breakfast, I ordered my lunch meal. On another day, at 4:00, I ordered my evening meal for a 7:30 reservation. The only major negative worth mentioning is that there is no wifi in the sleeping rooms. You must to got the bar or lobby to have internet access. Again, that seems off for such a high-end hotel.

Its incredible! One of the best hotels I have seen in galápagos! Although its not a low budget hotel! I had a great time! The food is amazing, every room has ocean view! The rooftop with the hot tub is super fun! You have the beach crossing the street and is the perfect place to go to galapagos! I would recommend it all the way! Service was really good, almost everyone speaks english and they are super kind! 100/100 to iguana crossing! Thanks for everything! Hope to come back soon!

Iguana Crossing (I.C.) is an incredible modern hotel/eco-lodge and I can certainly agree with all of the positive comments posted here. We stayed in the master suite from July 5-8th 2013 and it was worth the price for this once in a lifetime experience. The view from our suite is truly one that we will always remember. All of the managers, hostesses, and staff go out of their way to make sure your stay is a pleasant one. Breakfast was included and quality is on par with the type of breakfast you would get at a Hilton or Marriott, but it included very fresh fruits and unique items which is nice for a change from the usual choice found at branded hotels. We never ate lunch or dinner at I.C. but other guests said it was excellent. We preferred to try out the other restaurants in town to see some of the locals and we were happy with that decision. There are some unique aspects to I.C. such as the hot water in the shower…but you can get familiar with these quickly. Wifi is only available in the lobby, but was strong enough for me to make a few necessary calls over VoIP. We did not want to spend all day on the internet…but it is very nice to know that Wifi is available to stay in touch with family etc. It may be a good idea to bring a DVD with you for some late night entertainment as our room included a great flat panel TV with BluRay, but did not have any live channels. Our room included a minibar with drinks and snacks for sale. Prices of these drinks were fair compared to U.S. hotels, but were about 2-3 times more than several convenience stores down the street. We chose to stock up on water, drinks, and snacks from one these stores the day we arrived so we probably saved $40-$50 over our 3 day stay. On to the important items, this hotel is located within walking distance to all of the restaurants, bars, tour operators on Isabela. You can easily pick up a cab/shuttle from Iguana Crossing to get to the port for all of the various tours you will take such as the tunnels and snorkeling etc. I.C. can assist you with booking private tours. Please note that the private tours are much more expensive than the group tours that you can book anywhere in town. We were very happy that we went out on our own in to town to book our tours. We booked the group tour as we saved a significant amount of money vs the private tour and we also met some nice people from Switzerland and talked to them for the hour boat ride on our tour of the tunnels Sunday. You could walk to the port in about 20 minutes from I.C., but most tours will include hotel pickup. There is a great little beach bar at the port where the sea lions waddle right up and mingle with the customers as do the marine iguanas. I highly recommend that place. Another must see place is the trail to wall of tears. You can rent a bike at I.C. to see this trail or take a round trip cab for about $15 if you are willing to flag a cab yourself. In closing, I.C. is a once in a lifetime hotel with very friendly staff. I would fully recommend staying here.

Room Tip: Master suite with ocean view is really something else.

My son and I stayed here for 3 nights to see the land sights on Isabela before we departed on a seven day dive adventure.

First of all, the hotel is beautiful. It overlooks a nice beach and the views from the beach facing rooms are wonderful. Our room, a junior suite, was probably as nice as any room I have stayed in on an adventure travel. The pool and other areas were lovely as well. The room was clean and well kept. All in all, it was very special.

Some of the details were lacking however, so I rate the hotel a 4 instead of a 5. The employees never seemed in total control of what was going on. Some of the server help spoke no English whatsoever, so communication was difficult. The menu was small and did not change from one day to the next, so I would not recommend staying here for more than a couple of days without heading into town (a five minute walk)

The tours were very nice as well. Omar took us on four tours during the two full days that we were there and all of them were top notch. They were quite a bit more expensive than other tours, but worth it for the special treatment. We especially liked the hike to the top of the volcano and the boat ride to the Tunneles.

Would go back here in a heartbeat if ever given the chance.

Room Tip: Face the beach. Big difference between front and back. The junior suites are spectacular.

As we were afraid of sea sick with cruse in off-season rough tides, we searched an option to sleep on land. Organizing a trip in Galapagos is not very easy, especially if you do not speak Spanish. Emetebe seems to be the only option to fly between islands and this airline is not very reputable. Pia (Quito based) and Marcia (property based) are very efficient, attentive and easy to communicate through emails. I booked all the local trips, restaurants and inter-islands flights through them. The property is clean, very comfortable and well decorated as an eco-friendly hotel. The only suggestion is to expand WiFi coverage to each room (it is available at hotel lobby area). We had a very good time.
