Lovely apartment in Prcanj which is a lovely quiet village only about 10 mins drive from Kotor. Very well placed for exploring the area. There are a few good places to eat, our favourite being Mademoiselle's, which is only a short walk from the apartment. The road up to the apartment is quite steep, but that wasn't a problem for us.
The apartment is large, bright, beautifully presented, and very well equipped - there is enough crockery and cutlery to use the dishwasher without rinsing things in between, and so many coat hangers that even my daughter had enough!
The view from the balcony, which gets sun all day, is spectacular - we never tired of it.
The owners, and Sandra, the local manager, were all approachable and easy to deal with, and very obviously care about their guests. They were very quick to deal with a couple of minor problems we had.
Our only disappointment, was that the hot tub as listed on booking.com turned out to be a jacuzzi bath with only cold water supply, and too cold for us, but the pool was lovely - clean and with our own loungers available.
All in all, a relaxing place to come back to after a day exploring this part of Montenegro.
Absolutely fantastic. From pre-trip communication to the check-in, to the stunning home away from home, with a surreal, picturesque view of beautiful kotor bay we loved every minute of our stay.
Nestled up on a hill in a quaint, non-touristy little town of Prcanj, the village is quiet enough to give you privacy, while at the same time animated enough to make you feel like you're on the perfect Getaway. And only 10 mins drive away is old town kotor.
The apartment has everything you need for two couples. It's tastefully decorated, fully equipped with everything in living room and kitchen, two very comfortable beds in the bedrooms, and AC units in both bedrooms and the living room. The outdoor space is incredible wrap-around balcony, the pool is perfect and refreshing, while you're just a two minute walk down the hill from jumping right in the Bay!
Perhaps best of all, however, was dealing with Lorraine and Eric (the owners) and sandra (the local lady responsible for the stay). They are all truly lovely people, responsive, caring to your every needs...simply put: the type of folks that make traveling to new places such a delight.
It was hard for us to leave this little slice of heaven.
PS definitely spend some time at the new restaurant that opened next door called mademoiselle.
Mountain Bay Penthouse Apartment truly is awesome! The moment you open the front door you are greeted by the most breathtaking view. For a minute you forget to look at the apartment, well what can you say... incredible, stunning, spacious, chic, modern, it really is the perfect getaway. The apartment is luxuriously appointed, extremely well equipped and tastefully furnished. Being in the tourist industry in Ecosse previously, I know the one thing guests want is a good mattress. I had the best nights sleep, the bed is soooo comfy and when you open your eyes you have that amazing sea view over Kotor Bay. The large balcony is perfect for entertaining, with the BBQ and Spa Bath. We spent many hours here just absorbing the incredible views and watching the activities on the bay. If you like like swimming then you have a choice of the pool or be like the locals and use the sea.
The local restaurants are very very good, our favourite was "Mademoiselle" where we ate most days either for breakfast or dinner, only 10 minutes walk from the apartment. All the people we met were incredibly friendly and very helpful. The Dado mini market at the bottom of the road, is well stocked and with a bit of a rummage you will find everything you need.
We hired a car but to be honest the local bus service is so cheap 1 Euro to Kotor and if you are not planning much sight seeing then you don't really need one. We visited Kotor Old Town, very interesting and Porto Montenegro at Tivat. We enjoyed a good few hours wandering along the harbour stopping in the waterside cafes and just dreaming. If you want to go farther afield and don't want to drive then the taxis are very reasonable too. One afternoon we had a boat trip on the bay arranged by the owner of a local restaurant, where we were picked up and dropped off. Highly recommended, very friendly young man, who spoke very good English and was very knowledgeable about the bay. We visited, "Our Lady of the Rocks" a 16 century church on a small island near the lovely village of Perast.
Sandra, management agent for Mountain Bay is a real gem. Our flight was delayed so we were late arriving, if it happens to you don't worry just keep Sandra informed, she will be there to meet you. Anything at all you want to know or if you have a problem, though doubt you will, she is just a text message away.
The owners Eric and Lorraine really have made Mountain Bay a very special place. If you are looking for the perfect holiday accommodation in Prcanj then book Mountain Bay Penthouse Apartment, you will not be disappointed and we will definitely be returning there next year.
