We stayed here on a tour around Bordeaux for one night following a recommendation in our guide book. It is a really beautiful place, with a small park around it and perfect sitting places for dinner and breakfast next to a decorative pool, surrounded by the two wings of the building. The rooms are nice, only lacking air conditioning (we stayed during a very hot period).

The package for one night (159-179€ for two persons, very fair price) includes breakfast, dinner, a short tour to a nearby winery (if you want) and a bottle of wine + a can of foie gras to take home.
After coming back from the wine tour we settled for dinner around 8.30pm - and it took more than one hour (!) until we finally got something to drink. This was one of the signs that the service was way to slow (it was a single woman for the whole restaurant), who was obviously completely stressed and so could not manage to do it well enough. She told us, that this was not normal and we still enjoyed the great food, but this endless waiting for every step strongly affected the impression. For breakfast it was the same again - one service woman doing everything and so people started putting away used plates themselves to find a table in the shadow. We therefore got the impression it is a general problem that they don't get the appropriate number of staff there.

I still liked the place as it is truely beautiful, but the restaurant has to get more service staff to fit to the otherwise nice standard of hotel and very good food. If this is improved I can fully recommend to stay there!

We stayed on a French Group on deal as per previous review I have done we now are lucky to live in France. Finding the hotel was slightly tricky due to one way system but nothing a bit of driving around the block resolved this. We where warmly welcomed by Fabion a lovely lady who spoke good English but we where happy to chat in some French as we are trying to improve all the time. Room as mentioned in other reviews was spacious with kitchen bedroom lounge with fold out bed. We where booked for the evening meal on our second night but was happy to change to first night. Meal was excellent with a glass of sauternais to start and then a bottle of wine with meal included. Breakfast was classic French which was fine and served outside overlooking the grounds and fountain. We went to 2 wine tastings which were informative. Yes it was hot and the room was warm but we found the fan fine and we slept fine, it is next to a rail track but again was not a problem for us . included in our deal was a gift of wine and foie gras which was given to us on leaving. We enjoyed our stay staff where lovely, only minor quibble is that there was no bar to get a drink which would have been nice early evening but kitchen did have a fridge so if you want a cold one just bring a pack of whatever. We are planning to return also ring direct you will get as good a deal as using the social living or group on sites to book.

We stayed here too on a Social Living deal, great value, fantastic hotel, easy to find with lots of parking. The staff were very friendly and all spoke good English when your French fails you ! The rooms were comfortable and typically French, the dinning was excellent as was the wine. We also took part in a wine tasting which was very entertaining !Everything that we were told we would get we did and it was all very good. The area is fairly quiet but the town of Cadillac is only a couple of miles away if you need other things to do.

We loved our stay here and would highly recommend it, our room was lovely and we had a good view, we also enjoyed our evening meal in the restaurant the food was amazing and for 35€ per head with wine was great value. Fabian is lovely and friendly and speaks really good English and makes you feel at home.
Can't wait to come back with our friends!

We too stayed here on a Living Social deal (that did not include dinner). Unlike the last reviewer, we got everything that was promised and the value was truly outstanding. We added on dinner at 35 euros per head including wine and the food was excellent. Agree that breakfast was simple and sweet but that was fine for our needs. As per other reviewers, the mini suite with kitchenette and two bathrooms was a pleasant surprise and the fridge and cooker came into their own on the Sunday night. Sufficient cookware and utensils. We had excellent dialogue by email before our stay as we had to cancel our original dates but the management could not have been more helpful in rearranging another date. To be helpfully critical, I would say that the bathrooms/showers would benefit from an upgrade but otherwise would be more than happy to pay their advertised rates and excellent deals direct with the hotel.

Like fellow reviewer Conor K, we stayed here on a living social deal which we understood to include a gourmet meal, B&B, wine and foie gras gift and a wine tasting at the local Chateau de Bouade, specialising in Sauternes.
Had we received all the above, it would have been outstanding value. However, the domaine is really more of a business/reception centre aimed at corporate events and wedding parties - there is no bar; the dining room is part of a larger conference/meeting room and curtained off so that you can hear the speeches and slide presentations of corporate events whilst you are breakfasting. And, due to the lack of private guests, there is very little atmosphere. We felt as if we shouldn't have been there - on our last morning (we stayed 3 nights) the tables had been cleared by 845am and there was no one else having breakfast. The waitress started clearing the table cloths while we were waiting for our coffee, as if to hurry us along. There was no choice of yogourt ( we were simply handed 2 pots of supermarket bought yogurt: 1 natural; 1 vanilla); the croissant was cold, not warm. You get the picture......
The gourmet meal was good but we were charged for it when we went to check out. When we questioned this, we were told in no uncertain terms that the meal was not included in the living social deal, despite the voucher we presented. After endless argument, the manager finally agreed to charge us only for one meal and said he would send the wine and foie gras gift to our home. The arranged tour of the vineyard turned out to be a "do-it-yourself" trip - we were handed a small slip of paper with directions to the chateau and arrived 15 minutes late, having waited in reception for someone to collect us.
All in all, not a great stay. However, the setting is very pretty and would be a great place to get married! Just make sure you have everything agreed in advance in writing.

We spent two nights in a spacy room with small kitchen. It was very clean, but the drainage of the shower wasn't very good. The staff was really nice and gave us a discount when we decided to stay another night. The small kitchen wasn't equipped with pots or kettle so we didn't use it (only booked a double room, so we weren't disappointed). Breakfast was good, although some cheese or ham would have been nice (only sweet spreads). The food at the restaurant was excellent and so was the wine tasting which we attended (no charge).
Overall a really nice place with little to improve.
