This restaurant is a little off the beaten track but we have visited several times. Food is always good. On this occasion four out of five of us ordered the steak: perfectly cooked and really delicious. The wine list is predominantly local and very good value.

We are lucky enough to live not far from here and will continue to be regular patrons.

My wife and I had driven to this region from Perpignan to view the beautiful scenery as well as sample fine wines at some of the many village caves. We had stayed at this charming auberge on the outskirts of Villeseque some years ago and, being tired of driving, decided to stay the night here again. So we booked a table for dinner. We were very pleased with our meal, beautifully presented and delicious. I had delicately seared tuna and my wife had a subtly spiced curry. This was accompanied by a bottle of 2011 La Pompadour, a beautiful full bodied red wine from Castelmaure nearby - we went to the cave next morning to buy some more.
The chef/owner and his wife were very friendly, very engaging and we had a most charming evening.
Highly recommended.

Just had a great meal at this lovely restaurant. The setting is wonderful although do not be put off by the big car park to the local country park.
The food in uncomplicated and so much the better for it, well seasoned and wonderfully presented. Lovely friendly staff who tried to speak English even though I didn't really need them to. And the wine from the attached vineyard was soft and smooth and went really well. It is just a shame more people were not there or it would have been a 5 for atmosphere.
I do not hesitate in recommending this restaurant.

During my recent stay in the area, i decided to check out a restauarant closer to the lovely village i was spending a week in rather that the one at Portel which was recommended. Thankfully i decided to give it a go and was suprised at the level of service in this normally laid back informal area. The Lithuanian waitress was attentive to every detail and spoke perfect French and explained immaculately the composition of my dishes, which admitedly was not to dfficult in this occassion. My duck was perfectly cooked to the extent that it felt that it was melting in my mouth. i was told that this place opens at all hours( unual in this area) and is really seeking to make an impact on the local gastronomque scene. They even have there own vinyard and are producing wine, though i went fo the lovely reputable chateua Haut Gleon red. Worth a go and the lunch in particular is fantastic value at 16 euros.
