We recently visited La Calade for the weekend and was immediately struck by the warm welcome offered by the owners Jo and Peter.
La Calade is a beautiful french house, very typical of the region, with extensive gardens and pool. It has a lovely courtyard where you can sit and enjoy your breakfast in the sunshine. The bedroom was very spacious, the bed comfortable, lots and lots of cupboard space and the bathroom small but very clean. The breakfast was lovely with plenty of Jo's home made breads and preserves to choose from.
The B&B is situated in the quiet village of Moux, about 20 minutes drive from Carcassonne and about 40 minutes drive from Narbonne and the Med. We found Carcassonne and Narbonne to be great places to visit with loads of restaurants and shops.
Moux is to small to have any local bars or restaurants so a car is a must.
My only negative comment would be that you need to make sure you are aware of French Bank Holidays and opening times. We visited over the May 1st bank holiday which meant the shops, bars, markets and many restaurants were closed all day on the Saturday.
