We can recommend this place to anyone who like a holiday in an ancient ambiance in tuscany. People are very nice and helpfull. Sea and many ancient places (volterra) nearby. Restaurant, swimming pool and winery are at the premises.

We spent 12 days in this wonderful place. The village is quiet with the most spectacular of views. Everyone is so warm and friendly - from the lovely, helpful hostess Simona to the staff at Locanda del Sole (the local restaurant) to the villagers (who despite comments in another review)were always there with a welcome smile and bon journo!) .
You could spend all of your time in the village - just relaxing or I saw quite a number of people painting. We had some days where we stayed in the village for the whole day - using the swimming pool, eating in the excellent restaurant - and then on other days we would travel out.
The beautiful coast is only 20-30 minutes away. Our favourite beaches were at Marina del Bibbona, Vada and Castiglioncello.
There are some lovely hilltop villages with great restaurants and bars too (Guardiastallo, for example.)
Another reviewer commented on the distance to Siena - yes it is 1.5 hours on switchback mountain roads but Volterra (just 30 minutes away) is well worth a visit.
The Locanda del Sole restaurant provides basic provisions if you run short but there are supermarkets just 20 minutes away in Ponteginori.
The infinity swimming pool is amazing - usually deserted and with wonderful views. The combination of water and olive trees did mean that at certain times we had an issue with horse files around the pool but these were easily solved with insect repellant.
As you can tell we loved this place and will definitely return.

Room Tip: We had Bartoli with a private roof terrace - wonderful to watch the sunset with beer in hand...

You search calm and peace? Here you'll find it! In Querceto (41 inhabitants), there are some holiday flats, a restaurant, a bar and a great pool area. If you booked the right flat, you wake up with a tuscany sunrise. The service is excellent, also the cleanliness of the flats. Sometimes in the flat "Estrella" you smell an aggravating aroma in the bathroom (efflux). I think this is happening after rain. But a antiperspirant helps :)

Querceto feels like our 2nd home.
We come now for a few years and it remains our favorite in Tuscany. La Locanda del Sole is a lovely restaurant in Querceto. Do you like peace, nature, lovely people, good food and a great atmosphere, you will feel well in Querceto.

Simply perfect! Simona was a lovely host and we very much enjoyed our stay in Attesa apartment. Every morning a lady from the village came and cooked us a breakfast with salami, prosciutto and homemade bread, fresh fruit and so on. The atmosphere is relaxing and the poolarea outside of the village is beautiful with lovely views. Querceto village is calm and laidback - for our honeymoon it was just perfect! Definately not for partying or for those seeking late night action.

After the first visit to Querceto in the summer of 2011, we have now been there 4 times. The people, the apartments, the restaurant. It's all perfect.

May view 2 new apartments with air conditioning! Look beautiful.
The swimming pool is beautiful, what a view

We are just in love with Quercto.. ;-)
