“Lovely week-end, lovely people”
Reviewed August 11, 2013

We stayed here for two nights B&B on the week-end of 25th-27th July 2013. This was for a friend's 60th birthday so it was a full house. We were made to feel very welcome and the dinner on Friday night was first class. Next morning, breakfast cooked to order was a perfect start to the day. The room we were allocated was modern and well appointed and surprisingly quiet given the celebration which was going on. Great value, although we had a special deal for the occasion the normal £65 room rate was unbeatable. A lovely setting and easily accessible from the A55, would come back again.

Thoroughly enjoyable weekend spent with friends and family to celebrate 'tawd man's' 60th birthday. Staff gave a warm welcomed and looked after us for the two nights we stayed. The room was clean and comfortable. The location was idylic with great views. We ate in on the first night and food was very good. We were asked what time we would like breakfast and the 'full english' was cooked to order so very fresh. Paul, the chef, barman, and chief bottle washer seemed to be on duty from first light to last orders but always with a smile on his face and a quick wit, and always ready to be of assistance. A real family friendly atmosphere and would not hesitate to recommend to others. Definitely would stay again

Room Tip: Room 1 is furthest away from main pub area and therefore quieter. It is also cooler but although yo...

A no fuss, welcoming and comfortable weekend spent with friends for a 60th Birthday celebration. Through the weekend, staff were unobtrusive but readily available to ask if you needed anything more.
Traditionally decorated and in keeping with the age of the property. Lovely clean room with comfy bed. Good, freshly cooked breakfast and gallons of hot tea/coffee - starter of cereal and yogurt if you wanted. Loads of hot toast.
Chef Paul was smart, quick and organised, with a good sense of humour too!
Didn't really get to meet the owner Chris, but his wife Karen served in the function room (Estuary Bar) with a smile and speed and again, was nicely unobtrusive, leaving her customers to enjoy themselves. Fab view of the estuary from the bar.
Meal on the evening (chicken and bacon in a mustard sauce, with veg) was delicious and way better than the usual 'pub fayre'.
Would not hesitate to stay again. Thank you to Chris, Karen and Paul and others.

Room Tip: Rooms to the front might afford a view of the estuary? Ask for a room away from any cooling system n...

Pâté was fantastic but would have liked a bit of butter for the toast
Roast beef was spot on and Yorkshire pads where cooked to perfection
Flintshire bitter on tap is a must have

Only down side was that you could here the chief singing and swearing in the kitchen

Have had the pleasure of staying here for the last two weeks. Was greeted by name on arrival which set the standard for my stay. The setting is lovely and picturesqe great if you like walking or just want to get away from hustle/bustle. The rooms are lovely very well maintained and cleaned daily to a very high standard. The resteraunt is also very nice far better than !! Pub food !! All the staff are very helpful and always have a smile, they obviously all enjoy working here and are a credit to Chris and Karen the owners who themselves have also made my stay here great. Wont hesitate to come back. Thanks to all the staff.

Regular visitor here at the Glan, puts the rest of the nearby hotels to shame. Small family run 16th Pub/inn which serves excellent food and Real Ale. The biggest thing the Glan has going for it is the staff, incredibly friendly without being stuffy and formal. Special thanks to Sharon, Lyndsey and Helen, for accommodating my fussy standards! lol

A group of eight friends have visited this Inn annually for the past ten years. In that time it has changed hands a few times and is now in very capable management indeed. The bedrooms have all been refurbished, the bars and restaurant have all been spruced up and the beer is very well kept. the food from the restaurant is very good and reasonably priced. It's the very good end of pub restaurant fare, rather than a gastro pub, but it shows promise.
The pub has a good atmosphere- no machines, and it is very conveniently located off the A55.
Highly recommended.

Room Tip: Room number 10 has been opened recently and is thoroughly new and comfortable.
