Just loved it!
Do not go there if you like the very touristic places.
These lovely appartments are away from all the touristic hotels and restaurants, which makes it so special.
Nice appartements, I believe they were built in 2004, ideal for family vacation and or if you love diving.
We loved the snorkeling just outside the appartment, the lovely sunsets, the iguanas, the swimming pool, and the fresh fish on the BBQ every night.
Hope to go back next year, this was our best holiday ever
Had problems with the Wifi during our stay, but then it was nice to be without technology to really relax

I second everything positive said about MDR - the tranquility is second to none, the units are a solid value, the people are friendly and the setting is splendid, both in terms of scenery and proximity to restaurants and other diving spots.

Just one word of caution - you're renting someone's property, so each unit has its own plusses and minuses. Our place (Apartment 1B) was spacious and clean, but the bed was a problem. It was decently comfortable, but there were only two sheets, one of which was too small for the bed and one of which was thin as tissue paper. If you want to cool the place down at night with the A/C, that's no good. We ended up having to supplement the sheets with beach towels and tablecloths, which felt kind of absurd.

That quirk aside, a magnificent stay, and recommended.

We just got back from our stay and couldn't have been more pleased. The location was awesome. It was such a close drive to so many spectacular beaches. The apartment we were in, 7b, was perfect. It had everything that we needed for a very comfortable stay. We really can't think of anything that would have made our stay better. The hosts were very helpful and nice, the gate made us feel safe, the pool was fun, and the views were amazing. For some, the Mosquitos have been an issue, but they really weren't any worse than what we were used to.

My wife and I just got home from another great experience at Marazul Dive Resort. That's five visits in two years folks, we love this place. Let me explain why. You have the best house reef on the island just a few feet away and down some steps. There are two entry points into the water from Marazul. I try to explore the island and other dive sites but it's so easy to just stay put and dive the reef at Marazul. There's more reef than we could handle in ten days. I got great pictures of spotted eagle rays, moray eels (3 varieties), turtles and a plethra of fish, big ones also, like grouper and tarpon. The townhomes are great with a/c, and a kitchen, all we need, and a nice front porch both upstairs and downstairs. A nice assortment of restaurants, small markets and a five star PADI scuba shop are VERY close by. Just ask your hosts, Tommi and Uli, the property managers and they will help you with anything. Get your groceries after leaving the airport, the best store on Curacao is five minutes from the airport, ask for Best Value or Centrum Supermarket. Marazul is perfect for divers or those of us who like peace and quiet with beautiful water and a gorgeous view.. If you get upset when you see a few ants in the kitchen, or some weeds in the garden, then maybe you might want to stay in town at the Sheraton for three times the cost. If you don't mind cooking a few meals, or traveling minutes to restaurants and scuba shops, then Marazul is perfect for you. The property managers, Tommi and Uli Koch are truly concerned in your stay and comfort. You only have to ask. We're heading back for New Years and some great diving, see you on the platform for my favorite giant stride entry point.

Room Tip: Contact Tommi or Uli at Marazul and ask for a cliff or water front unit.

Just got back from a fabulous Caribbean getaway at Marazul Dive resort! Lots of great memories exploring the island and all the little cove beaches nearby. The condo was perfect; we especially enjoyed the amazing sunset views and morning/evening swims right off the cliffs in front of the resort.

I think it is important to point out that each town home is individually owned, and that there are several different avenues for making a reservation. The website listed on Trip Advisor (cometocuracao.com) is only one avenue (this is the property managers' website - Tommi & Uli Koch). However, a woman named Dorothy (located in the US) also manages the rental process for a few of the condos (her website is: http://www.marazuldiveresort.an). A third avenue is to search for the property on Vacation Rental by Owner (www.vrbo.com), which was how I arranged our reservation. I preferred this avenue because I felt the condos available on VRBO were more nicely decorated and had better amenities than those available on the other two website. Regardless of how you make your reservation, Tommi & Uli are there to ensure that you have everything you need during your stay - they are great host.

The owner of 7B surpassed all my expectations with great communication throughout the process and lots of information to help us find our way around the island. The condo was well-stocked with all those items that are easy to forget at the grocery store: coffee filters, trash bags, foil, plastic wrap, salt. We used the grill almost every night, and really enjoyed that. The sunsets were simply phenomenal; no green flashes, but every evening we kept a look out in hopes we'd see one :). On the first day, we searched the apartment for an iPod player but didn't find one. We mentioned this to caretaker (Tommi) the next day, and he immediately found us a player to use in the condo, so we were able to enjoy our sunsets listening to Jimmy Buffet after all! The Direct TV & quick internet access came in handy during the afternoon when we wanted to come in from the sun and relax a bit.

We really felt like we got to explore the island while we were there. The first day we did a bit of beach hopping at the various beaches nearby (we really liked Lagun; mainly because it was less secluded and felt a little safer during the week). We were there on flag day (July 2nd), so there were lots of crowds at the beach that day (we spent most of that day at Play Abou). We had dinner at Sol Food at Sunday night (Sunshine was great, as expected), and got to check out the Bocas (very impressive). We spent one morning climbing Mt. Christoffel, which was VERY hot (can't say I recommend it, although the vistas were beautiful). We also really enjoyed our time in Punda & Otrabanda checking out all the local culture.

Would 100% recommend staying at Marazul (especially 7B!) to anyone looking to experience the less touristy/more remote side of Curacao without sacrificing any of the comforts of home!
