“Average food. Friendly but slow service.”
Reviewed January 6, 2013 via mobile

Food was pretty good. It took a decent time to get our food. Trying to pay the bill took a good 30min. Drinks are cheap. Beware if you are not a cat lover the place is rife with cats wondering the dining area.

“interesting decor”
Reviewed January 6, 2013

The place is a nice oasis between beach hopping - close to Playa Forti, Knip, Lagun beaches. There is ample seating accompanied by eclectic decor (like a huge bed hanging from the ceiling) and two floors. The service was excellent. Prompt and accurate. The food was decent. The best choice was the shrimp wrap. The chicken caesar salad was served in tortilla bowl but although tasty and spicy tasted NOTHING like a caesar salad. If you go there, take a quick peek upstairs where there is more western themed decor. Behind the restaurant are lodging rooms.

“Average place, little local food, better options in town”
Reviewed November 22, 2012

We had dinner here. Besides goat stew, there is little local food available on the menu. Most of the fish is flown in (presumably frozen) and the one local fish they didn't do justice by deep frying it.
Prices were average, not particularly low or high.
They have several birds in cages which can be nice for children.
In our opinion there are better options if you're looking for authentic food and experience.

“Epic value, stellar service, fun setting”
Reviewed November 17, 2012

We ate here several times during our visit and were repeatedly blown away by the value. We'd order starters, entrees and (lots of) drinks, always had leftovers, and never paid more than $50.

Sandwiches are very basic, but they're like $6, so hard to complain. The goat stew is rich and gamey, and akin to a goat massaman curry (be sure to get rice on the side). Ribs are fork-tender, chicken breast and pork chops are perhaps slightly overcooked but also reasonably flavorful, and while I can't attest to the fried whole red snapper, it looked outstanding. Sides are rock-solid, especially a potato salad that's slightly sweet.

The staff is cheerful, and the setting is the closest thing to a fun bar scene you'll find in the area. It's fairly easy to make new friends on busier nights.

At the same time, probably the biggest shortcoming is the bar, in that it's very poorly stocked, generally lacking anything but plain-label booze and even running out of staples, such as vodka. But they do make a pretty mean rum punch, and will adjust its strength to suit your palate.

“Lovely meal with our group of 16!”
Reviewed November 6, 2012

We had a delightful meal at a u-shaped configured table on a Saturday night in Westpunt. The owner/manager was so accommodating and brought us a complimentary cocktail made with the local "Blue Curacao!" Fun meal with good non-fancy food and nice wines.
