Description: The Dinghy Dock Bar is a true Caribbean dive bar. Situated on a historic marina in Oyster Pond, the bar straddles the Dutch and French line sitting over the water. It's a place where high and low, locals and tourists, rub elbows and party the night away. It was originally a place to get the rowdy drunken sailor's out of the finer establishments in the area. Sit at the bar and to hear stories told, some true and many not, from around the island and around the world. The "mix your own" happy hour is the best around. That's right, you get the bottle, glass, mixer, and make you own drink. This is also one of the best-stocked bars on the island, with the usual suspects, as well some unusual ones - even a selection of craft beers from the US for those missing a taste of home. The kitchen makes some of the best casual bar food around, lunch and dinner. You won't find better fish and chips, ribs, burgers, wings, or anything else on the menu. Daily specials vary from goat stew to jerk pork chops to blackened grouper. We open at 8am for coffee and fresh baked croissants. The kitchen opens around 11am and runs until you're stuffed. All are welcome - kids, dogs, iguanas, random dock critters, old and young people - provided, of course, they're up for a good time. Family friendly most of the day and night, late night is definitely more suited for the "big kids". You never know what will happen at this place. There is also live music every Sunday night and usually 2-3 other nights of the week. Sports fan? The game is always on at the Dinghy Dock. Whether it's NFL, NHL, NBA, Soccer, College, Pro, Olympics, you name it and we will like be watching. Stop by and yell at the tvs(that's right, more than one) with us. You are guaranteed to have a good time no matter what night you go, and once you've been there, you will be back. Maybe because you got so drunk you forgot your shoes, or maybe to do it all over again. Dinghy Dock Bar "The Peril of Oyster Pond"

My husband and I with our 4 children just returned from a 7 night trip to St. Maarten. It was a wonderful time everyday. If you plan on visiting, you must go to Dinghy Dock Bar. It is owned by a very cool owner named Seth, who was a wonderful. The girl behind the bar was awesome and she made some yummy drinks. The food is american style and the prices are perfect for you and your family. The view is great and the kids loved looking at all the boats. A must if not for dinner then happy hour!!!!!

We went to the pour your own happy hour during our trip in November. We have been visiting the island since 1990 and well remember Ryan the originator of the famous "pour your own". Seth the new owner is abrupt at best, condescending at his worst.

We had drinks at the bar then moved to a table for dinner. When our bill came we questioned it as it didn't make sense. Seth explained what all our things (the drinks were what was unclear) cost. The math still didn't add up but he was so curt and determined, we just let it go. It is unlikely that we will bother to go back. The experience was so contrary to the theory of the bar.

Condesending, me? Never. We have a pretty intricate billing process, it's is far too complicated for you to understand. However, I'll give it a shot. So you walk up to the bar and order 2 drinks and a beer, $8 at happy hour. So I walk over to the tab book and write down Keeny 8. Then you come back and order 2 more drinks, $6. I add +6 to the tab and so on. If you decide to eat, we transfer the total to your own tab. That tab has tons of room for what you order, so you might see v/s(vodka and soda) III. We would total up at the end. Thats the way it's done here, nothing new. So you a saying we over charged you for a few drinks? You really think we need to bump the tab up 5 or 10 bucks? Maybe you should take it easy on the sauce so you remember what you had. I was likely substsantially more sober than you were, I'll stand by my math skills. Curious about the theory of the bar? You mean you want free stuff and cheap prices? Not here, I got bills.

Dinghy Dock is a place to experience. Get out of your comfort zone and integrate with what is going around.

Happy Hour is widely well known, pour your own. Engage the owner and he'll have you talking all evening. Fish and Chips is a great way to start the evening with cold beers. Caipirinha's are great and only get better as the night goes on.

Amazing views of the marina and all the families coming and going on their sailboats and yachts.

Stopped for quick lunch with group of 20 after completing a charter. Brian was both tending bar and waiting tables . He was amazing. Took care of everyone in our group and several others and got us out in time to catch our taxis to the airport. Food was typical bar fare but Brian was the highlight.
