Description: The Dinghy Dock Bar is a true Caribbean dive bar. Situated on a historic marina in Oyster Pond, the bar straddles the Dutch and French line sitting over the water. It's a place where high and low, locals and tourists, rub elbows and party the night away. It was originally a place to get the rowdy drunken sailor's out of the finer establishments in the area. Sit at the bar and to hear stories told, some true and many not, from around the island and around the world. The "mix your own" happy hour is the best around. That's right, you get the bottle, glass, mixer, and make you own drink. This is also one of the best-stocked bars on the island, with the usual suspects, as well some unusual ones - even a selection of craft beers from the US for those missing a taste of home. The kitchen makes some of the best casual bar food around, lunch and dinner. You won't find better fish and chips, ribs, burgers, wings, or anything else on the menu. Daily specials vary from goat stew to jerk pork chops to blackened grouper. We open at 8am for coffee and fresh baked croissants. The kitchen opens around 11am and runs until you're stuffed. All are welcome - kids, dogs, iguanas, random dock critters, old and young people - provided, of course, they're up for a good time. Family friendly most of the day and night, late night is definitely more suited for the "big kids". You never know what will happen at this place. There is also live music every Sunday night and usually 2-3 other nights of the week. Sports fan? The game is always on at the Dinghy Dock. Whether it's NFL, NHL, NBA, Soccer, College, Pro, Olympics, you name it and we will like be watching. Stop by and yell at the tvs(that's right, more than one) with us. You are guaranteed to have a good time no matter what night you go, and once you've been there, you will be back. Maybe because you got so drunk you forgot your shoes, or maybe to do it all over again. Dinghy Dock Bar "The Peril of Oyster Pond"

“where the unexpected can and will happen”
Reviewed November 6, 2013

Oyster Pond is my home away from home and adding to this experience is the crazy place they call the Dinghy Dock. The Dinghy Dock has rightfully earned its popularity for its pour your own happy hour. Currently, happy hour is 5-7pm. This is the place you want to be if you are looking for some adventure because there is never a dull moment at the Dinghy; if you stick around it won't take you long to see, especially post happy hour. This place draws in a wide variety of clientele which keeps things interesting. There are loyal customers who frequent the island, boaters, locals, dogs, iguanas,... a healthy mix of all sorts who keep coming back for more. I'm always surprised how much my head hurts the next day, yet the damage is pretty minimal to the pockets. This is a no frills establishment, but plenty of fun to be had. I'll be back for the ribs and some. Kudos to the new owners for keeping things exciting.

“Awesome bar by a beautiful marina”
Reviewed October 31, 2013 via mobile

We have been back to DD several times. Each time in awe of the marina. On a rainy or a sunny day, we could sit back and relax by the water; watch the yachts and sailboats sway in the calm waters of Oyster Bay with luscious green hills rising up above. The location of Dinghy Dock could not be better. The new owners spruced up the place pretty nice and added good menu options. There is a flat screen above the bar with ESPN network. Definitely recommend.

“Dinghy Dock Bar - St. Maarten”
Reviewed October 30, 2013

Beautiful view of the marina and surrounding hills, especailly at night. The Dinghy Dock has a laid back, relaxed atmosphere which fits right in with the island. You must try the fish and chips, awesome meal. Enjoy!

“Great option for our rainy day”
Reviewed October 28, 2013

It rained the first day we were in St. Maarten. My boyfriend and I spent the day driving around the island and making the best of it. We found this place on TripAdvisor. We ducked in here to get out of the rain and grab some dinner and drinks. There were a handful of others here too, but we were able to snag a great seat at the picnic table with a view of all the beautiful boats in the marina. The calamari we ordered was some of the best I have ever had. One of the highlights was when my boyfriend ordered a drink, the bartender set the glass of ice down with the soda water and the entire vodka bottle, he was able to pour his own drink. I guess this is their happy hour deal. Good times!
